And fighting off established premier league sides to loan a player described as "a real coup" for the club. Not to mention signing another player who last season played in the Europa League. Oh and bringing back a player universally lauded during his time at the club resulting in England recognition. Webber et al have sat down, looked at the player and considered their valuation, made an offer presumably and Celtic wanted more, clearly hoping for a bidding war. Jim Smith 2,652 Posted July 15, 2021 I can see the basic point but too early to say that. I think if he was a player we were that bothered about then we would have matched Brentford. I can’t bring myself to get too upset about missing out on this one mainly because all the reports of what the player is like suggest he’s not what we are missing.
