Yorkshire Canary

what a surprise norwich dither whilst others act

Recommended Posts

Same old story dithering and inaction by the board as rowett and Warburton both excellent candidates are appointed by forest and derby. Not so funny now who will we finish up with now a 70 year old pardew or our caretaker?

We were supposed to have restructured after we sacked Houghton. Who is leading on this latest restructured there is noone on the board with any footballing competence. It doesn''t matter what the structure is we just need a manager who can motivate and organise players and make positive signings

Three of our most recent managers were already employed at other clubs, Lambert (Colchester), Hughton (Brum) and Neil (Hamilton). Who is to say we won''t be going down that route again? It takes time to negotiate a managers release from his contract but for me, it''s still preferable to someone kicking around who was fired from his last job.

I think we''re scouring Europe for the manager who''s name presents the fewest spelling problems for posters.

Warbhurton and Rowwitt were discounted for obvious reasons.

All the restructure will do is change the names on the back of the chairs, same old cronies, no new investment,

Their incompetence really is Premier League. No s*it Sherlock ? That''s what all clubs want isn''t it ? To be honest they''re all a gamble so we may as well draw up a list from A-Z, pick up a sharp pin and find a blindfold....

I was stunned to see another club move quicker and more decisively than us when appointing a new manager. So much so it was a good job I was sitting down.

Warburton was previously rejected when AN was employed, Rowett was only going to one club once the job was free, likely that was because they thought we may grab him so sacked Mclaren and grabbed him fast, and being he has history there.....

Also neither have a record as good as AN has anyway, Rowett is more inexperienced abd Warburton has hardly set the Scottish prem alight, would say that what AN achieved there was far better.

Also they will want the new system in place before employing someone, not much use getting someone in and then them refusing to work within whatever is planned.

Witherspoon, you tell others to keep on topic and talk about a comma, when will you stop winding everyone up and grow up and start adding to proper debate?

Is that the modern way to say "go f### off"?

Neill was sacked on Friday, it is now only Tuesday , hardly dithering. I assume Yorkshire Canary is involved on the board as he knows that they are dithering and doing nothing.

If any fan thinks Derby''s board has been ''decisive'' and ours hasn''t, it''s their 5th appointment in a year - that''s not decisiveness.

David McNally Retweeted Jimbob Hedgehog

In the last promotion year, I was asked to manage the selection process and it didn''t involve ''scouting Europe''.

Incorrect. Rowett has managed a year longer and worked wonders at a dreadful Birmingham, keeping them in and around the play offs.

the swiftness of the Rowett deal could have been because they were talking before they sacked Schteve?I don''t think he was available by the time AN got the push

To quote the BBC, this will be the fifth consecutive East Midlands derby with a different manager in charge of both clubs. Nuff said.

What is unsurprising is that posters on here criticise the club for taking time to make a crucial decision. They would equally probably be complaining if we''d appointed someone quickly.

The chances of getting the kind and quality of manager we need are crucially influenced by the structure within which he will be asked to work. Do you think it is just an accident that five of the managers in charge of the top 7 clubs in the Championship are foreign (the other two being Hughton and Monk)? Do you seriously think that any of them would accept appointment without first being satisfied that the club is capable of delivering the type and quality of support that they need to mount a successful promotion campaign next season and have any chance of surviving in the top tier thereafter? Why do you think we find ourselves in our current position having spent four of the last six seasons in the EPL? Might it be because we haven''t had the necessary supporting structure in place?

Just because we didn''t appoint Warburton or Rowett hardly means we''re dithering. If they were never in the frame, I think it explains itself...

Nobody is criticising the club for taking time to make a crucial decision. I think the point being made though is that any self respecting football club who have known for at least 3 months that they may need to sack their manager should have a potential replacement lined up by the time they sack that manager rather than appearing to start the search from scratch a while afterwards, particular where any further delay is caused by this "restructuring" red herring.

Derby clearly acted swiftly in sacking McLaren and getting Rowett in because our job became available and they were concerned he would be offered and take it. Their hand was therefore forced to a degree but obviously he was the man they had identified to succeed McClaren. Whether or not you agree Rowett was the right an for us it would be nice to feel that the club had a similarly clear idea of who they want. It doesn''t quite feel like that.
