Move Klose 303 Posted March 20, 2017 from Huddersfield is the man we want.
Move Klose 303 Posted March 20, 2017 From journo nick MashiterNorwich getting closer to sporting director appointment - they want Huddersfield''s head of football operations Stuart Webber. #ncfc #Webber key in bringing Wagner to #htafc, revamped scouting system at club too. He is the frontrunner for #ncfc sporting director job.
Rogue Baboon 0 Posted March 20, 2017 Why aren''t we Huddersfield?Well we can be the next best thing and nick their Sporting Director & Head Coach!
Move Klose 303 Posted March 20, 2017 Says of Wagner:“We needed a man with a clear identity, who would be open to the recruitment of young and foreign players, and who would be a head coach and make the players and team better,” said Webber. “So hopefully he has someone similar in mind. Lessingham Canary 99 Posted March 20, 2017 We could do a lot worse, that''s for sure.
Nuff Said 5,141 Posted March 20, 2017 In a similar vein to the suggestions that we should go for Monk as manager, why would he leave a club above us in the table, with a decent chance of Premier League football next season, to join us?
ZLF 274 Posted March 20, 2017 it looks like we are targeting the right type of person for the SD role - very encouraged by this and hope we can make an announcement soon. With the rights sports director I would be happy to take to the end of the season to appoint the new head coach if we can get the right person in to work with the SD.Will be an interesting few weeks. Bethnal Yellow and Green 1,557 Posted March 20, 2017 Webber would be a great choice, a wealth of experience even at a young age (he started his coaching badges at the age of 16). Worked at Liverpool and Man City and very highly respected in the game.Sporting Director roles aren''t as linear as players or managers. Webber will be thinking of the next 5 - 10 years rather than a player or manager who think in the next 1 - 2 years. It''s like Steve Walsh from Leicester moving to Everton last summer. He probably considers himself having a better long term future at Everton than Leicester, rather than the short term benefit of being with Leicester.

Diane 500 Posted March 20, 2017 Would he want to leave Huddersfield though whilst they are onto something special, sitting in 3rd place & could be in the Prem next year.
SwindonCanary 455 Posted March 21, 2017 Norwich seem to be aiming high, hope they get whom ever they are after
Parma Ham's gone mouldy 2,220 Posted March 21, 2017 Money. Many such roles still lag significantly behind player wages. Were Norwich to fully embrace and value the concept, they might choose to offer pay scales much nearer to player remuneration or bonuses. This would be a good strategic move and in synch with their recent policy of (deliberately) over-paying for younger, promising players. Dominating strategically at a level they can afford. The ''Dad''s Christmas present'' strategy from the Masterclasses. In this way they could certainly attract high calibre candidates from higher placed sides.Parma
Yorkshire Canary 118 Posted March 21, 2017 I would be happy with this
GPs Beard 0 Posted March 21, 2017 Yes but which Stuart Webber thread is best? The one started by Move Klose or ... hang on ?!

Tells you how to recruit a team coach as well.
Branston Pickle 3,657 Posted March 21, 2017 It seems Archant are rather expecting it to be Webber, from the current cover story:"It is looking increasingly likely that Huddersfield’s Stuart Webber will be installed as City’s new sporting director and he will then be heavily involved in the process of identifying Alex Neil’s successor."
westcoastcanary 173 Posted March 21, 2017 What has happened that Archant know about that makes his appointment "look increasingly likely"? It would be much better all round if the club issued outright denials when any name gets mentioned.
Nuff Said 5,141 Posted March 21, 2017 But then they would either have to appoint someone no-one''s heard of (Alex Neil anyone?) or be accused of lying or incompetence by the whiners.
Samwam27 527 Posted March 21, 2017 Well we were supposedly in for Moss as a frontrunner and that went flat.Would be happy with this but won''t get excited until it''s announced he''s in post with us!
missing norwich 0 Posted March 21, 2017 Would he not be on a 3 month notice period? That takes us say, nearly the end of June??
First Wazzock 902 Posted March 22, 2017 As long as he brings Wagner and newly signed Elias Kachunga with him all will be going in the right direction...
Move Klose 303 Posted March 22, 2017 Be nice to get that Mooy who''s on loan there from Man City, probably cost a few £. If I was a side in the Prem i would be looking at signing him, was quality when they came here. Can''t believe that Kachunga cost them £1.1m today, However much would someone similar who''s English cost. Probably £5m+.This is why we need this guy from Huddersfield to sort out the scouting & Recruiting.
