A sensation of relegation

Recommended Posts

Worried, oh I''m worried alright.  A lack of goals, obvious gaps in the full back positions and more average quality midfielders than we can shake a stick at but the only striker scoring goals is one who is being linked with a loan move away.  Holt''s carrying weight, Ruddy has no credible backup in case he gets injured (as with Euro 2012, it can easily happen in training), and we''ve played a few uninspiring friendly matches where we''ve looked good at the back but short of attacking threat.

Now don''t get me wrong, I''ve seen many a team and many a manager come and go over the years and I''ve had my worries before, including last season, but now Lambert has gone I have to ask, is anyone else sensing that 17th place would be an achievement for us this coming season?

I also wonder where this supposed transfer fund has gone as we have barely broken a sweat in terms of money paid out, so where is the remainder of this big transfer budget?  If you bring anyone in now then you''re upsetting the rhythm and structure of the team just before the season starts - a definite error.  We should have had everything signed and completed by now.

Unimpressed, worried and seriously concerned about a swift return to the Championship,

Bore Bor Bor.

No mention of the fact we have conceded 1 goal in 450 minutes of football either. Nice one.

Either a troll, idiot, or someone pulling a really bad joke. Topics such as ''Holt is fat'' are typical.

The average midfielder bit is laughable as somebody else mentioned.

I shouldn''t worry too much about a swift return to the Championship - it won''t be for at least another 9 months

more concerning is what are the whingers and whiners going to find to latch unto if we don''t lose the first five home games

they rather remind me of the story of the three little pigs who run from ''house to house'' as the scuttle from warnings of administration, lack of experienced players, second half of the season syndrome

I suspect they will concoct fears of all our best players being sold as their next stick to attack the club with

times are really desperate at the other end of the A140 so they have to have something

Obvious Binner is obvious.

Or you''re that much of a dilapidated moron. Good night to you, sir.

When will people get that in to their heads, they don''t mean a thing, didn''t Newcastle lose like 6-0 against Leyton Orient a couple of years ago then walked the championship??

There are obviously those who think that when they post they are far more important than everyone else, they think they have gravitas and also know a few other posters who tend to back them up, in fact they talk just as much cr@p as the rest of us I would call them Anal posters. There are others who are young and shoot from the hip, I like those ones cos they just say what they feel, they might be puppy posters.

It was an excellent defensive display second half against Ajax, why are we debating pre season friendlies?

Exactly and if fans are going to be pedantic then Ajax would have been down to 10 men after 10 minutes when Vaughan was pulled down when through on goal (in which Pilks scored the resulting free kick) as that would have been a straight Red.

Why did the young family next to me pay nearly a £100 for admission and treats if it was only a friendly and doesn''t mean a thing.

Probably because it will be their only chance to see City play, sad but true!

Because they were mugged off I reckon. Is this a good place to post a timely reminder about the cup competition coming later this month? How much was it to take a family to watch MK Dons last season...

I seem to have annoyed/offended some of you by pointing out the bleedin'' obvious, my reason being that the OP was being taken seriously in some quarters.

Many apologies. I won''t be posting again.

relegation is going to be a constant fear for us, and teams like us, only a handful of teams go in to the season with no realistic relegation fears. People worry about 2nd season sysndrome, but if we survive that it will be 3rd season syndrome, then 4th season, then 5th,  6th 7th etc. Get used to it. But theres no need to be negative, we over chieved last season and people to to expect us to continue to over achieve, maybe we will but more likely maybe we wont. But lets just enjoy where we are, not where we might possibly be next season,

I would like us to sign a left back and striker, and curtis davies would be great, but we already have a good enough squad to survive, i wouldnt swap our squad with fulham or wba or swansea or reading or southampton or west ham or wigan, or even a ''huge'' club like villa. pre season results mean little, but it is encouraging the number of clean sheets we have kept. Hughton is not lambert. Lambert teams score alot and concede alot, hughtons team a built on solid defensive shapes, which consequenty limits the number of goals scored. but we have loads of goals in our team, i am quietly confident of having a good season, maybe even a good cup run for once.

Lets get behind our team and be positive.
