I wasn''t at Portsmouth- but the minutes following Simeon''s third were absolute magic. It honestly beats seeing England retain the Ashes in Melbourne last year. The feeling was indescribable - "utter chaos at Carrow Road". Still get goose bumps just thinking about it...

Many great moments. Simeon goal v Derby. Hucks v cardiff. Nelson header at Charlton, same ground we were relegated at we went up a year after. But it has to be our greatest moments the goss volley in Germany has to be it.

Am trying to think of more moments, not neccessarily the best, as I think we probably have that covered.Chris Martin''s goal against (dirty) LeedsOli Johnson coming on and scoring 2 late goals.Both games against the scum last year (I couldn''t make it away but watched in a bar in the Barclay, the place was swimming with beer, utterly mental!)

The whole night at Portman Road last season. Just Sensational. From losing out on a ticket in the ballot and being resigned to the beam back to then getting a phone call saying I''d got a ticket after all as a return was unbelievable in itself. And then the game itself was football perfection, never forget the fourth goal. Jacko''s last minute winner v Derby and the final whistle and pitch invasion at Pompey run it close however.

I would probably go for the Milk Cup semi final and Bruce''s goal. I think that point was a start in a shifting in the balance of power between the two clubs which since that point has mainly been in our favour.

To be honest I think most of us on this thread are not qualified to answer. My memory only stretches as far back as the mid-nineties, and many people have gone for events that have happened in the last couple of seasons.I would say the more senior posters on here are probably best placed having witnessed Norwich through the ages.Again based on the thread title (Norwich City''s History) I can''t think of an event as unprecedented as Munich, but would be happily corrected.

This was definitely the start of our recognition as a ''bigger'' club and not just as cup giantkillers.  Running across the pitch at Vicarage Road and taking the Rookery End was a pure moment of joy....and when would we ever again get an away turnout for a league game of 17,000+ out of a total crowd of 22,000 - just not possible anymore.

The whole day of the League Cup final for me stands out, not just the result-from sleepily boarding a Sanders coach in Fakenham early in the morning to everyone falling asleep on the way back! Quite a day and proud to be at one of our three Wembely appearances.

I''d go for the Milk Cup final, not just for the fact that it was major trophy, but also because of the atmosphere with both sets of fans getting on so well. I''ll never forget walking away from the ground with Sunderland fans coming up and congratulating us.

God, you''re all so annoyingly young. I actually think there should be a kind of reverse Logan''s Run Law, to stop people being under 50 at the very least. My moment? The final whistle at Brisbane Road on April 24th, 1972. After going 2-0 up and Orient (Ian Bowyer, I think) getting a goal back. So a very tense finale. The first and only time I have been on to the pitch. Well, I say "on". Actually my servants carried me down and across in my gilded yellow and green palanquin. So I never actually set foot on the turf. But I thinks that counts, under the circumstances.

I remember, and was there for, the goals against Munich & Sunderland, and almost had to double check they had gone in before celebrating, it''s like you see it but don''t believe it (Goss must have been 120yds plus away, Chisolms o.g was it the side netting) then check for the players celebrating.

But in my time capsule is Polston''s header vs Villa, it went in almost right in front of me, and also the feeling of euphoria as I believed we were going to win the League, add to that Polston celebrated right bang in front of me as I charged down the River End aisle.

I guess this shows we''ve had a great time supporting the club over the years. There doesn''t seem to be one stand out moment for the older posters and mine is less than a year ago.

 

I so nearly went for Jas''s choice, the Iwan header at Cardiff, it was an amazing moment and very special for me to be there with both my children.

 

I guess I chose the 5th goal at Ipswich because I was older and really appreciated the moment. I was standing there taking it all in. The scoreboard, the jubilation of our fans, the desolation of the binners, I was determined to remember everything. But when I was younger I enjoyed the moment but thought it was always going to be like that.

Holt''s goal at Liverpool will stick in my mind for a long time.  The power, the skill, the way he took out three Liverpool players with his desire to get to the ball first.   And it said that  he and  Norwich had arrived in the premiership and meant business.  Unforgettable.
