Mr Brownstone 0 Posted January 17, 2009 For anyone who missed Canary Call, Adam''s indicated that there are 5 names on the shortlist or so he''s heard, he also seemed to suggest that Boothroyd and Ince might be 2 of them. Well done today boys, you did yourselves, us and Gunny proud. I''m really pleased for Wes and Jamie lad.
Mister Chops 7 Posted January 17, 2009 Cureton looked decent today, amazing what match sharpness/fitness can do for you. We''re still light up front and need some reinforcements though. The five:BoothroydInceCalderwood (Aberdeen)HareideRioch
Crafty Canary 547 Posted January 17, 2009 If that 5 is the genuine shortlist, and who really knows?, then my preference would be:1. Ince2. Boothroyd3. haeide4. Calderwood5. RiochHowever I can see the Board waiting to see how Gunny''s sides get on against Southampton and Doncaster and if they go well appointing him to the end of the season. Clever Farke 75 Posted January 17, 2009 1. Gunn2. Boothroyd3. Hareide4. Jimmy Calderwood5. Nigel Worthington Part of me wants Gunn to do it but he''s such a lovely bloke it would be terrible if he was hounded out of the club if things went wrong but maybe I''m being pessimistic. He definitely sounded the part today. Maybe Calderwood with Gunn as assistant manager? Otherwise it would have to be Boothroyd, hopefully with Malky and Gunny on the team. NCFC_Shaun 0 Posted January 17, 2009 out of that 5. My order of preference would be ...BoothroydHaraideInceCalderwoodRioch
Syteanric 1 Posted January 17, 2009 from what chairman mumbles was saying on radio Narrfolk after the game Gunny might just be on the list...I think Mark robins is number 1 choice.. both Doomy before the game and mumbles after the game mentioned they want someone perhaps with lower league experience who has "some kind of a link to Norwich"......jas :)
JJ 0 Posted January 17, 2009 Heard Dowie''s name mentioned today by somebody close to the board.

This is only my interpretation into what he wrote, but I am confident that my feelings will prove correct!
Gingerpele 0 Posted January 17, 2009 I want Ferguson (Darren obviously, although Sir Alex would be nice.....) Boothroyd would be ok (my second choice) but i dont think we want Ince

Minster Canary 0 Posted January 17, 2009 To be honest, I don''t think Gunny will get the job, I''m not even sure he''d want it, from what I gather he is enjoying his current role as head of player recruitment and would like to continue that under the new team, anyway my shortlist of three would be:1) Aidy Boothroyd and Malky Mackay2) Darren Ferguson3) Mark Robins
SwindonCanary 457 Posted January 17, 2009 Have I missed something here ? Why is Rioch down as one of the five ?

(in no particular oder)Mark RobinsPaul InceAide BoothroydBryan GunnPeter Taylor From that list the only one i dont want is Paul Ince, isn''t he just another arrogant, up himself, know it all?? Stevie Wonder 0 Posted January 18, 2009 I can''t see Rioch being on the list. When he resigned before Delia described him as a square peg in a round hole!!I would guess at;BoothroydDowieInceGunnRobinsCan''t see Hariede either as he was interviewed when Grant got the job (apparently). The first 4 on my list will not require any compensation which gives them an advantage!
Jimmy Bone - Superstar 2 Posted January 18, 2009 Because he still lives locally.Knows the club well.Could work well as a temporary manager until the end of the season or with a young ''up and coming'' manager.
Soton Canary 0 Posted January 18, 2009 Just a quick question to anyone who may know...Would Gunn be allowed to take over permanently even if he/board wanted him to? Only reason I ask is because of the special dispensation that has had to be given to the likes of Southgate due to not having the adequate coaching badges etc. Does Gunn have these badges? If not, does he need them for champ or is it just a prem thing? If he doesn''t have them, but does need them, it would seem unlikely imo that he would be given special dispensation for the job. Any ideas?
Daphne 0 Posted January 18, 2009 I think the Aberdeen result today may have put Jimmy Calderwood a little unlikely to come here.
nu_matik 184 Posted January 18, 2009 My guess at the list....in no particular order...Boothroyd (Free agent and bookies fave, be stupid to not at leats talk about it)Robins (Although ''concentrating'' on rotherham, all managers thrown in to the mix while in a job have to say that...)Calderwood ( Mentioned a few sites i think are usually quite clued up, might want to break into english football, although aberdeen did just do celtic 4-2)Dowie (Managaed every other team in the world and free agent...but god forbid, i would be very depressed if so..)Heireide ( International credentials, free agent, plated for club, expressed interest..)
