Fossy 0 Posted October 5, 2008 I`m missing hucks, he would have been a great player to have with his eksperience, I can`t say that Glen has been right about fans getting another hero in hoolahan. But I think he would have had a great player to learn from, if we sign Hucks for another year. I`m still not glad about the many loanies, you can see now that middelsboro have called one home, we don`t get a unit to gel. But then again the board`s resorses are limited. And a think we need moore money to be invested in the club. So Glen has not mutch money to spend. I think it was to many people leaving at the same time. We should have done the change of players over a couple of years. Do you agree og not?
InLambertWeTrust! 0 Posted October 5, 2008 Agreed. WE WANT HUCKS BACK! Not gonna happen though......[8-)]

Paul Spector 0 Posted October 5, 2008 Disagree. I still think it was the best thing for the club at the time
Canary Pirate 0 Posted October 5, 2008 We need another younger player like Hucks, but where he is coming from ( for longer than a month ! ), god knows !
Regime Change 0 Posted October 5, 2008 I was pretty indifferent at the time but with hindsight not offering Hucks a new contract was huge mistake.
Lurd 0 Posted October 5, 2008 Before anyone says it, Hucks can''t come back on loan unless its a window to window deal, which all overseas laons have to be.
ca 1 Posted October 5, 2008 Yes we miss him still at least he''ll be back in 4 weeks to watch the crap we''re watching [:D]

I thought it was a good idea to release him too, with the introduction of the wage cap, and cutting down the costs of the squad - we needed something new, and it seemed sensible. Now, we reaaaally really need a player like Huckerby in our squad. We just have absolutely no cutting edge.

Blofield Canary 12 Posted October 5, 2008 and the ironic thing is half of our current squad are on more than Huckerby is earning in the states
gazzathegreat 0 Posted October 5, 2008 I know I will get slated by some for this, and quite frankly I don''t care. I have been watching all the tribute stuff on Youtube and also the Champions DVD. Poignant and regretful yes, but really all I wanted to know was Hucks really was that good, that he could turn a game and that we really don''t have anyone with even a tenth of his talent in the team now.Well he was that good, and he is still good enough to walk into this current squad without trying. Gone are the days we can watch him on the pitch. So to the original poster, yes 100% agreed, we do miss you Hucks. We miss your skill, your talent for scoring and making goals, we miss your devotion to this club and your humble way with us, the supporters. We miss your frank exchanges with the press telling them how it was. The club is not the same without you Hucks and now we have no heroes, we have no replacement for you and we have lesser players, some older and some more expensive. This club has made some massive mistakes in its time, and one of the worst was to not give you another season when you still had so much to offer. Here was a player who loved the club so much he vowed to never play against Norwich City. He turned down offers to go to other clubs for more money while he was here. He gave us promotion and unforgettable experiences and memories.I don''t give a damn anymore what the manager (or anyone else) thinks of fans who can''t and won''t forget. The day Hucks comes back to Carrow Road as a fan I have no doubt he will get the biggest cheer of the season. He''s one of us, green and yellow to the core. Darren Huckerby, Norwich City legend. Houston Canary 0 Posted October 6, 2008 Plus, I''ve heard Huckerby took quite a wage drop to play - A JI''ve seen it in PinkUn stories several times where Huckerby said he has more than enough money, so wages were not the deciding factor in him going to the US. He obviously loves his job, and would have played for us for less than he was making previously if given the chance. He wasn''t.He is like a big time movie star who works for the union rate to be in a small time low budget movie because it is a good movie. He would have worked for us for less, although I am sure he would still insist on it being a fair wage to avoid being taken advantage of and being appreciated. Picto2007 0 Posted October 6, 2008 We miss Hucks its as simple as that. I used to look forward to watching Norwich even if we were the underdogs in a game. You knew what Hucks was capable of and he could win you games when they looked dead and buried. I have heard the man was a complete arrogant tit off the pitch, but on it he was a great player. I for one would love to see him back in the team.

Yellow Peril 4 Posted October 6, 2008 Why does everyone say we couldn''t afford Hucks'' wages, when he was never actually offered a new contract ?Who knows what he would have accepted ?Hearing the great man speak about his beloved Norwich City, I suspect he may well have played for a packet of crisps & a Mars Bar.Perhaps someone could also tell me why we can''t afford to pay Hucks'' wages, but we are quite prepared to get someone in on loan & let him sit in the stands & do naff all ?Now, there''s a waste of money ! AndyJR 0 Posted October 6, 2008 I think it was more a case that Roeder wanted to start afresh which was fairly understandable although I did''nt agree with the decision. Now things aren''t rosy, it was inevitable the decision would come back to haunt him. I for one would never have let him go but gone he has.

Weren''t Hucks'' wages being paid for by the same businessman that has paid for Lita ?
Hughesy 0 Posted October 7, 2008 I really cant stand these posts about Hucks. He has gone and I think that people should get over it! Yes, he used to be a good player but when he played last season you could see most of the season how he had lost a lot of his pace and that was the main part of his game. . 0 Posted October 7, 2008 We''ll miss Dion Dublin even more when we''re scrapping for survival next April. Huckerby was a great personality but Dublin carried much more weight when it came to inspiring others.......Who will do it for us this year? Marshall the flapper perhaps? Fotheringsodall the promotion tipster? One of the many workaday loanies? We''re down already....no worries.
