newyorkcanary 14 Posted May 7, 2008 I want to thank Ray and Nigel for making this possible. This is my favorite part of the boards, as it''s all about goodwill. No complaining, moaning or negativity here. While its not like me to ever pick a game that the big 4 are playing in the Premiership I think I am going to risk the streak on those lovable, sweet millionares at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea home win over Bolton. Thanks Ray and Nigel for everything and as long as Dixmar will support us, I''ll be here every week. How about a baseball pool over the summer? Now we''d really clean up.... Justin

norfolkchance1 0 Posted May 7, 2008 Hope its back next season RD as I don''t know where I''d be on the first day of next season without it.My pick this week has to be Reading to win away at Derby and secure their Premier League status. A risk but must be nailed on musn''t it?
YankeeCanary 0 Posted May 7, 2008 Despite it being a Sunday game I''m going for:Celtic to beat HibernianHibs put up a good battle to hold Rangers to to a draw in their last game. Celtic know they now have Rangers by the throat ( in pressure terms ) with all the games Rangers have to make up in a ridiculous time frame. Celtic are going to be highly motivated to tighten that noose.
Buncey 1 Posted May 7, 2008 Ardee you are the sweetest old boy on all of the norwich city related message boards and none of this would be possible without all the effort that yourself, nutty and everybody else has put into this to make it such a sweet place. My nap this week is for reading to beat derby county. Reading will want this so much and I''m afraid derby have given up on any hope of finding any pride at pride park this season.I have a funny stat for you too. Derby under paul jewell have managed only 6 points and no wins in 23 games. Derby under billy davies managed 6 points including one win in 14 games. So has bringing in jewell made any difference to their season?
Buncey 1 Posted May 7, 2008 Infact he hasn''t even managed 6 points, only a measly 5. [:)]

Gentleman Jim 0 Posted May 7, 2008 Ray,You probably missed my post on the last "raise funds for..." as after me and Blah3 posted our comments the thread promptly dissappeared down the board swamped by the numerous "Hucks" threads. So to briefly recap, Nutty''s analysis of our seasons acheivments was great, I finished 10th, and realise that I can''t promoted or relegated from that position no matter what my selection does this week, so in common with the average football club in similair situation nowadays I am using a reserve picker, my pet goldfish "Hucks" in respect to his parting namesake.Hucks has considered seriously and has said "glub glub glub gulp" which all fish enthusiasts know means :-Celtic to beat Hibs this week, they scent success in the league as Rangers will probably wilt under the heavy fixture loading they have, he also blew a bubble afterwards which means it''s his NAP selection.Cheers Ray and Nutty this little idea of yours was brilliant, so entertaining and enjoyable. Bless you both

Leedscanary 410 Posted May 7, 2008 Arrdee & Nutty you really are the Legends of Norwich City, so lets not let all this Huckerby nonsense get out of hand. Great players come and go, but great fans like you two will be with us forever.I was a bit shocked I was rated at less than 50% strike rate on Nutty''s stat sheet. I thought I''d done ok this season, but I suppose all gamblers think they do better than they really do! I would like to know what my % was Nigel, if you would be so kind, so I can look to do better next year - assuming Arrdee uses his sugary sweet tongue and bribes Billy Dixon with some of his finest sausages!Anyway - Nap for the week has to be BAYERN MUNICH away win against Duisberg. No real reasoning behind it, just looks the best bet to me, since my lovely Blue Square Prem has finished.GOOD LUCK PICKERS!Leeds Canary (Young Gun)

Trent Canary 0 Posted May 7, 2008 Looking at the results it appears that ive been a rather terrible picker, even worse considering I try to take time over my picks! I think ill abandon the hunt for higher odds and just look for the best chance, which is what ''nap'' really means. Feel free to release me from my contract at the end of the season, freeing up valuable wages to spend on the likes of Blyblybabes and Ricky Knight. This week I shall go for Inter Milan to beat Siena.Inter are chasing the title, Siena are stuck in mid table.Didnt catch who was making the picks, either way best of luck! And thanks again to Arrdee and Nutty. The true heroes of the board for setting up this thread.

I know Arrdee would be the first to point out that each selection is important. The percentage stats are just a little fun between ourselves. But wasn''t it your Aldershot selection that was part of Fellas winning week? That''s more than ok in my book [Y]Your stats are 11 correct from 24 selections - 45.8% You are on a winning run of 2 and you have had 4 winning weeks out of your last 6. So are you in form and one to follow? Not ''arf! [Y][H]
Shack Attack 0 Posted May 8, 2008 Morning all, despite the shoddy way I''ve been treated this week I can''t let you pickers down so here''s my choice.Lyon vs AS Nancy - HOME WIN.Lyon haven''t been in great form recently but will fancy their chances against a Nancy side who have only one twice away from home all season. Lyon have only lost one home game all season and need to continue this run with Bordeaux breating down their necks and having a relatively easy home game against Sochaux. Thanks to Ray for all his hard work getting this thread up and running and to Billy Dixon for his generosity in giving us our £10 bet each week. Cheers also to Nutty for working out all the stats last week. I''m pleased that I, erm...er.....I mean that nice chap Shack, have got over 50% correct. Now has my left testicle made his pick yet [:P]

Hissing Sid 160 Posted May 8, 2008 So the end of the season rolls around. Before my nap, I''d like to add my thanks to arrdee and NN for their work on the Free Bet. Any ideas yet on the possibility of doing something for the Euro Champs?7 from 11 so far, heres hoping for 8 from 12. Looked at the Prem and the play offs, couldn''t make a choice. In the end I''m going for the FA Trophy Final and Torquay to triumph over Ebbsfleet.Haven''t looked at the form too closely, I just feel Torquay will want to salvage something after their play off defeat to Exeter last weekend.Good luck all and thanks once again arrdee. Berkshire Canary 13 Posted May 8, 2008 My nap this week is Lowestoft to beat Kirkham & Wesham in the FA Vase Final at Wembley, the Trawlerboys have done a great job getting there and the backing of 10,000 fans and wellwishers should go a long way to spuring them onto victory. I also wanted to say well done to Arrdee, NN and all the pickers who have helped the acadamy this season, I am long time reader on this forum and regret not getting involved in it sooner but hope to get the chance next season. Until then lets hope we can end the season on a high with a winning selection, good luck. [Y]

arrdee 2 Posted May 8, 2008 Yes you lovely old Pickers you have done Devon proud and "Devon" being proud is one thing I don''t want to talk about , I think all you lovely old pickers know what I mean , It is a constant battle for me to try and get "Devon" focused on football rather than women . I know I don''t have to explain "Devon" with a thong over his head , also some hot tottie licking chocolate off his naked body . This is I am afraid dreadful .This is what I have had to endure to bring you the Free Bet I suppose , I do hope he is going to calm down next season , If I can bring you the Free Bet next season that is , I just know "Devon" is going to replace me with an inflatable doll . arrdee.Yankee,2,Fellas,P''boro, the line of fame .
