Does anyone actually enjoy transfer day?

Recommended Posts

Appreciate it can be exciting for some but to me it's a big let down nearly every year and brings out these really annoying ITK people on twitter/X who don't have a clue but seem to enjoy the attention.....

Sky have made it a load of over hyped nonsense where not a lot really happens and the richest clubs pay over the odds.

I just see the Saudis have reportedly made a bid for Mo Salah for £150m. That will be interesting.

Yes, Agents and Fackin eejits who talk about the window ' slamming shut '  .

I just like footy , the hype, not so much.

Not at all.

Especially if it comes to a close and Norwich trot out the old "...we go with what we've got" line that was so beloved of the latter years of Worthy's reign and the period immediately afterwards.

Daryl Russell pushed up front, that'll work.

Who will this seasons Rusty be? 😀

No.

It's just more nonsense for the Armchairites.

The last transfers should take place before the season starts. Ins and outs.

This. And no transfer activity during the season beyond signing free agents.

Enjoy it more when Norwich aren't involved.

Well we aren't involved so it would seem, much to mine and many others annoyance.

Still time I suppose.

I do, love it when teams buy for stupid money and then the player turns out crap! ( not Norwich but other teams like Manure who have a history of over paying)….

Salah is the one I’m watching, how would Liverpool turn down £150 million for him! I’m sure at £200 million will buy him! Absolutely stupid! You could buy our squad and club for half that!

Of course we're involved. We've been linked with 3 players in the last 2 days. We know they're actively trying to sort a transfer as we speak. We might even sell Andy Omo if the right bid comes in.

I don't get this frustration over transfers. If it happens, it happens. If it doesn't, it doesn't.

I miss the live reporting from outside the grounds......and the crazy things that often happen 😂

Yeah me too! I think that stopped in part because twitter became so prevalent and also in part after that season someone stuck a dildo in the reporter's ear at Colney.

I find a morbid fascination watching clubs panic buy while spending huge amounts of money. As a Norwich fan it's usually quite dull (which is a good thing in terms of how we're run) but if we are linked with players a lot on deadline day it can alleviate some boredom checking this website every now and again to see if anythings happened.

If there were lots of rumors about our star players though I'd be hating it. Even if we don't sign anyone today keeping Sara is a big win. I have no idea why lower PL clubs haven't come in for him, he scores goals from nothing and is a set piece specialist, that's so valuable. But I'm delighted he's staying.

Playing Devil’s advocate, didn’t Salah score more goals than our entire club managed last EPL season?!

It's basically a TV feature for fake armchair fans of the top clubs to get really excited and buy shirts of players who are panic buys or marketing exploits.

As a kid it's quite exciting but beyond that..

Al Ittihad willing to pay him £1.5m per week. PER WEEK! Just let that sink in. That's bloody bonkers.

Absolutely. However the thread above is currently on page 121, so clearly some people do.

The Saudi window is open until the 7th. No Salad might still move yet for £200m.

That would cover Liverpool missing out on Champions League.
