Yes, but a lot of things that are seen as ‘fair’ in football would also be deemed assault on the street.

If I slide tackled a pensioner down Gentleman’s Walk I’m fairly sure I would not under any circumstance be let off by the policeman, even if I insisted I had won the ball first.

There's only one way to test that theory...

Josh's work rate and dynamism is really going to be missed, but then Wagner has got our team into such a dynamic force that the same  can be said for so many of our players if they suffer an injury...Sara, Rowe...the full backs Dimi  and Stacey...heck almost any of them. Whatever the outcome...weeks or months...for Josh's injury, we just have to believe that all clubs in this division will get similar blows and things equal out.

I played for grasshoppers too before the dizzy heights of Loddon Utd for a year. Not sure it’s the best measure of second tier English footballing standards 😂

That takes me back a bit - my Dad founded Loddon Grasshoppers with his Mate Geoff. Black and Green stripe shirts if I remember correctly?

We needed to get another striker in anyway for me even if sarge wasn’t injured. Idah and sarge both have poor injury records and we can’t rely on Barnes to keep playing 90 min like yesterday week in week out. A young loan  striker a must for me this week if we can ..

Really cant see anyone else coming in - they now hoping an relying  that Idah can step it up. Wagner will state that others will have to contribute more in the goal scoring

Nah, we still have two, if they are that worried we can push to one up top, play 4-2-3-1 and push someone like Nunez in behind Barnes. With Rowe and Fass the two wider players. Sargent doesn't have that big an injury record. He picks up knocks because of putting in the distance constantly and like yesterday, putting himself in there for the goal and got shoved which had him land awkwardly.

When you say "hoping an relying that Idah can step it up" - I think two goals is a good return on the minutes he has had  this season. We have now had three managers who think he is a natural finisher and he is still young.

I think Idah will do well, looks full of confidence now he’s bagged some goals and assists and a run in the team is just what he needs, shame an injury may have provided it.

I do think it’s concerning though. We are playing with two strikers really effectively, if we don’t have a fourth and one is injured we have no bench option so it’s either someone out of position or keep those two playing 90 which seems a big risk personally.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see a 4th cover striker come in personally. Depends how serious Sargent turns out to be I imagine.

It's a shame if Josh is out for long. As for signing someone I doubt we can afford anyone half as good. I doubt we could afford anyone half as good as Idah. I doubt we could afford anyone who'd be a better option than Rowe for that position. I reckon we'll have to go with what we have.

If it is a long injury I can see them having a look, we haven't got long though. Otherwise I agree. If it's few weeks, we have the international break approaching as well. It gives others a chance to shine.

Green was the key, ours were a weird aqua type green by the end with white in there.

I am not 100% sure that Wagner's new system would work quite so well without the all-round game of Sargent in the ranks, which I see as fundamental. He's more than just a striker.

Of course a direct replacement of the Sarg. with Adam Idah is the obvious and correct course to follow, but Idah is not Sargent.

Huddersfield put in a more than decent showing in the game after we lost Josh, they carved out quite a few chances and Gunn had to be at his best on more than one occasion. They are considered to be relegation fodder this season despite the canny Warnock being there.

I can foresee a return to one up front, especially against better sides, with greater re-enforcement of the midfield by the inclusion of either Gibbs or Forshaw as starters.

A lot depends upon Idah and even his greatest doubters cannot deny that he has made a promising start as understudy.

We still, imo, need another decent striker on the books, and did before the events on Saturday. Whether it is considered financially viable by those in charge of the cheque book is another matter.

I wonder when we'll find out the severity of this injury. I'm guessing best case scenario it's still going to be 4 weeks or so. If he's out beyond the end of the year it's a disaster.

I can’t see it’s a full tear or rupture the way he was moving after the game.

Seeing a specialist is pretty much par for the course to be able to assess best treatment program. Still could be only three weeks fingers crossed.

I find it hard to believe it’s that serious given how he was wandering around the pitch laughing and joking at the final whistle.

The boot is a marvellous thing. Takes the risk out of post injury but sadly is no indication of severity. You just don’t make it worse.
They would give him NSAID’s so he may not feel much.
We’ll soon be told , but I have a feeling it could be a while.

If it is ankle ligaments we'll do well to see him back on the pitch before the end of October

I'm still angry at the way he was grappled from behind by a goalkeeper who had no chance of getting to the ball, who in the process caused a bad injury.

As annoying as it is I’m not sure there was malice in the process, it was a keeper desperately trying to make amends for a crap clearance attempt. He won’t have intended to cause injury and you see plenty of players going through another, like when a defender is shielding a ball out for a goal kick for instance.

It was the way Sargent fell that caused the injury. Keeper wasn't trying to hurt him, he knocked his balance off meaning that he influenced the awkward fall, but it wasn't a bad foul or anything.

Also the rules sort of cover this in that keepers do have a little bit more wriggle room with this sort of thing. In addition, if you wanted the foul given, the ref would have had to have disallowed the goal and given a penalty. The double jeopardy rules would now mean that it would have to have been a particularly bad foul for a card to be given as well.

It's just one of those. Sargent will have been on the end of much tougher tackles and been absolutely fine. Rowe arguably got wacked a lot harder moments later. It's how his boot caught in the ground and caused the stretching of the ligaments that will have done the damage.

I was once a Loddon Grasshopper. Here is team photo from around 1990/91 I reckon 🤔 Sponsored by Laddermans and I think we had the Slush Puppie logo on there too.

The fact the keeper wasn't booked was yet another great example of utter awful refereeing. Yeah the keeper didn't intend to hurt him I'm sure but that's a foul all day long
