Adam Forshaw Signs!

Recommended Posts

Blimey.  That was a bit out of the blue.  He was decent when fit but hasn't he got some long-standing injury which is why Leeds released him ?

Let's hope he is over that. Unless he has been specifically signed to replace Hayden in the stick to beat Webber with / scapegoat role of course.

Well this came out of nowhere.

Another experienced 'win now' type of signing, who should be a very good addition at this level.

Not sure where this leaves Gibbs and Nuñez, however...

Given that Forshaw has spent most of his career in a wheelchair and is said to be "providng cover" he won't be in the regular starting 11

I never thought for one moment that he'd take over from McLean or Sara.

But Gibbs and Nuñez haven't seen much action this season anyway, and now their minutes will be shared with Forshaw.

I'm not disappointed with that because it's a long season and we now have plenty of strength in depth, but Gibbs and Nuñez may be.

It also runs the risk of Gibbs ending up in a situation like Idah found himself in for a few years; having too much quality ahead of him to get regular minutes, but also being needed for squad cover. But ultimately, if we get promoted, the ends will justify the means.

Good signing, I wish he'd stayed at Leeds he wouldn't accept the deal he was offered. He does have a poor injury record but for a freebie backup he's perfect for the Championship.

Here we go again! Norwich City good at signing injured players. Shades of Louis-Jean, Jarvis, Hayden, Byrum all over again. Told you Delia has no clue about football. Quite happy to waste a whole year's wages in this way.

only problem i can see is if you sign someone who is prone to injury as cover just hope he is not injured when we need cover !

Very good player but so many injuries ,

unless the specialists think they can manage the injury maybe lighter training not playing full 90 mins etc

I am surprised that Liam Gibbs has seen so little playing time this season. He seems an excellent prospect who can only get better.

With the long season, the increasing frequency of injuries (not just at City, nb.,) the extra substitute and ten minutes extra time becoming the norm it is well and truly more a squad game than ever before. After perusing the starters we cast our eyes on the bench more studiously than ever before.

We do seem to be stacking up in certain areas, but seem thin on strikers (some have mentioned Fassnacht and Rowe as filling that role, which makes sense) and, for the time being, are one injury away from being vulnerable in central defence, although the two youngster we have lined up could be deemed ready by the managerial staff.

Difficult re: Sorensen for although we are conditioned to rate him he seems forever the nearly man. Never lets the team down, but has failed to make his mark for any lengthy spell in any position. He'd likely make £2-3m in the transfer market and not necessarily at a lower level. Like 'Argos' really, good player who is really loved for all the wrong reasons.

For me the glaring misfit remains poor old Adam Idah, and this comment is not meant as even more criticism of the boy. I just feel that his confidence is such and, after the cruel abuse hurled in his direction at times, could just do with a spell away from Carrow Road.

We could loan a promising PL youngster (a market that remains untapped this window) or buy a striker who has shown quality in the lower leagues, both risky options no doubt, but I feel that the only way the club would eventually get the best from AI would be to get him out of the Carrow Road spotlight for a spell.

It's funny Vince, but I keep getting this nagging feeling that, for all the stories about her going to other teams reserve team matches (she was a big supporter of the old Central League) & lurking at the back of the away end with a flat cap on and clad in a oversized gilet, it isn't always Delia that attends matches in a scouting capacity, ensuring that we only ever sign players who she recommends after such trips.

I believe it was you that broke the story that she'd been to watch Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa on at least a dozen occasions as she'd heard good things about a young Argentine player that they had on loan but I'm not so sure on that one. But could be wrong.

I thought she did very well to sign Sara and Barnes and Rowe has developed very nicely under her guidance

I don't think that there have been many injuries at all as far as I can see - but one very long one from which he seems to have recovered. (See below) In fact, his injury record seems very good as far as I can see.

He had a major hip issue which kept him out for two years but he came back and played 34 games in the Premier League since then (+ 4 cup games) before a freak injury where he broke his kneecap but which is viewed as straightforward (6 weeks). With nearly 70 games in the Premier League, he instantly becomes one of our most experienced players at the top level.

I am a perpetual optimist, but nevertheless feel that this could be a very good signing and with only a one-year commitment (with an option), the risk is relatively low.

You have to hand it to the rumour mongers on here. Spot on again, quoting some obscure source, the bookies must know something etc. The club has phoned up some website to inform them before signing Mr Forshaw.

He reckons he spoke to Byram before signing and was told  "the sickbed is well comfy, mate"

Jokes aside, welcome on board, Adam

Do you post on Facebook under the name Paul Selwyn Drake by any chance?

No, I don't do any social media and I can assure everyone the person on MFW under my name is a low grade imposter.

We don't seem to be spending any of themoney we have had coming in. I guess it going in the general fund in case of a loss making season. Mind you, there is the January window.

Good shout!

At least Big Vince actually seems to put a bit of thought into his wind-ups, though.

Yeah I think you're right, the Vincent character puts a bit of work into his character, whereas Selwyn is just a bit of a ****.
