Don't worry, hopefully we'll carry on playing crap and avoid being selected for TV 😅

Ipswich at Sunderland at 17:00 on the opening Sunday just means that Monday's bin collections will be late

Good, serves them right for not having their pitch ready.

3 live games on a Sunday! Anyone know if this will be every week or just because it's the opening weekend?

The Premier League doesn't start until the week after, so probably just this first weekend for us.

Dreaded rail strikes set to start again next month too, so I'd be reluctant to commit to any travel plans just yet.

Yeah that could be it. I know the EFL signed a new deal with Sky, and that means way more games will be broadcast, but don't think it starts until the season after this one.

Once the new tv deal kicks in pretty much every game will be live in the eFL anyway

The link is from this page, but they've removed the dates (yesterday it will still showing the cut off dates for 22/23). So worth keeping a check on it;

Not due to Sky TV picks, but Swansea and Middlesbrough away aren't ideal midweek fixtures.

Swansea - over 300 miles, 5 and a half hours, 60mph all the way, assuming no stops/breaks

You would need to be clear of the M25 by four at the very least and to then make Swansea by 7ish. If it's by cabbage canary the it would mean a 12.30 start to allow a 30 min break and around an hour hold up. Then back to the City by 4am next morning.

For a game that will be available on a stream.

Indeed and it won't guarantee a seat for Ipswich.

I am never going to Swansea away again. Done it twice, we lost 4-0 and 3-0, for the 3-0 our coach broke down on the way home, but at least we were refunded the cost of the match ticket...........

Club cabbage needs to be cheap and nasty so as the VIP away days that drill a hole in the pocket appear attractive.

iirc they often schedule difficult fixtures like this for midweek on the basis that fans are unlikely to go to them even on a Saturday, so they might as well be midweek, to allow more feasible away games to take place at the weekend. Bit counter-intuitive, but it does make some sense.

Yes. The binners away. I'm sure it would not take much to make Sanders so awful that fans are willing to cough up £250. It's not like there are trains or cars that can be used, is there Trains do not have on board toilets, and you cannot take drinks along can you ?

£250, a bargain, when you think of that long walk from the station to Binland, or how far out Norwich station is.  I expect in other areas of your life your particular genius is similarly not recognised.

Southampton vs Plymouth moved to 6pm on Friday 29th December. It's between Christmas and New Year - but it's not a bank holiday, so a lot of people will be working in offices etc until 5.30pm.

No Christmas or New Year TV selection for us though. How far we've fallen. Previously you'd have thought Norwich vs Southampton on New Year's Day would have had TV written all over it.

It's nice to have a 3pm NYD fixture. No complaints from me.

That’s all well and good for you, but you go. What about everyone else?

Remember Sky ****ing up fixtures 1992-93 season, Blackburn home 4pm kick off on a Sunday, freezing day with plenty of snow in the end, kicked out of the pub just after 2pm as no all day drinking then, mooching around for a couple of hours frozen solid and a bore draw.🙃 .
