Let’s be honest

Recommended Posts

God help the club if this squad did actually get promoted! The last 2 efforts in the top flight have been abysmal and without spending more than what Forest have this season, we would just be cannon fodder all over again!

Could you imagine how many Haaland would score against our defence 🤣🤣🤣

Can we not just concentrate on trying to get promoted first?  The number of people who seem to only be interested in what might happen next season is extraordinary

But it’s a reflection of just how poor and unbalanced the squad actually is currently. Only other defender is Gibson and striker is Hugill so it’s really looking unlikely tbh, wouldn’t you think?

I can tell you now for nothing, we won't be spending more than Forest have, if/when we get promoted.

Sadly agreed. I mean how poor must the championship be if we are able to sneak into the top two? Really does go to show the massive gap in divisons.. But my word imagine todays defending against Man City for example, christ what would it be? Haaland double hatrck and them winning 12-0?

No we won’t which means it would be even bigger carnage 🙈

A defeat has been coming, after a few weeks of disappointing performances. I genuinely can't think of a game where we were in total control, no we aren't going to play well every game, but this league is extremely poor this season. For me Krul has to be dropped after today's performance & for his decision making plus his distribution has been great for a while now.

Haaland only got one today, he's already on the decline, he'll be past it by next season 😏

Agreed. Didn't see the game today but we've not played well for a while and, as you say, this was coming. Let's use this defeat to change things up. Today's result shows we're not going to get away with below-par performances and still scrape points all season...

Smith was brought here because of shortcomings in Farke's ability but has failed miserably to show he is the man for that job.

Especially when most of those people think we'll be exceedingly "lucky" if we are promoted.

He was brought in to make a better fist of being our head coach than the prervious man and he has failed miserably.

What concerns me at the moment is that when to things starting to go against us, we struggle to regroup and go again.

But here we go again, we need a DMF and two strong lads behind…. We buy another AMF and some speculative forwards to replace Teemu which we can’t

Im afraid the farke lovers and smith outers  will shoe horn anything negative to back up there hatred to Smith. There is nothing he can do to change there minds , the bloke is doomed .

Can’t speak for everyone, but I get the impression most people want Smith to succeed and get the best out of the players. The issue is we’ve not seen evidence of sustained improvement.

Got us to 9 unbeaten in a row. That's failure it seems.

Where were you sitting today?

We are in second spot because the whole Championship is so bad it's making Smith look like a genius.

We are just as bad but have the benefit of having just been relagated with 3-4 nearly decent players. Smith is riding his luck, nothing more.

I dream of the day he's gone.

Oh the irony of these two posts being above and below one another

There is absolutely nothing ironic or contradictory in those two posts.

The first post is saying that there's no evidence that Smith knows what he''s doing.

The second post is saying that it looks like he knows what he's doing, but actually he doesn't because really it's only that the league is rubbish and therefore he doesn't know what he's doing.

So the irony is that the evidence that he knows what he's doing is there, but it's being dismissed on unreasonable grounds by his critics.

Firstly, it was pretty clear that the "irony" stemmed from these comments:

"I get the impression most people want Smith to succeed"

"I dream of the day he's gone"

For the substance, they largely agree: "we've not seen evidence of sustained improvement" and of Smith "riding his luck".

Well, given that what I've explained to you actually is irony, and what you're presuming he meant by irony isn't irony, it's pretty clear you just don't understand irony.

Look, I appreciate that yesterday's result put you in a pretty tricky situation given that you've spent most of this week saying that the performances are irrelevant because we're getting positive results and rabidly attacking those of us who were saying we've been riding our luck, but take a day off.

There's no "irony" in two fans largely agreeing but having a slightly different view of things.
