  1. I think most fans, once the mist has settled on games are appreciative of the effort put in by players. Not all are going to have endless talent but all can put their shift in and at times thats all we can ask as we won''t win every game. With Surman he seems to be going throught the motions, he makes running seem very laboured. I would say bring Lappin in as Surman seems lightweight at the moment too. OTBC
  2. You have to take all the criticism as a compliment really. Sounds like Holty is our Neil Warnock....but also the ones who post the dire comments need to get a life. Its a competitive game so you have to fight for the right to win... ;)
  3. Barnett is King - I''d change Surman for Lappin in your team, as Surman just doesn''t look too bothered at the moment. Lappin will always give effort and show that he wants to win.
  4. Have to say I always thought we had it in us to be in the play offs come the end of the season. All this mid table stuff is ridiculous, we had momentum and team spirit in abundance and good team players along with a positive manager. With it has come confidence which has helped to take us further. Whether we are a top 2 team is doubtable but definitely play off, if we could defend and keep clean sheets well who knows but we have had a great deal of entertainment with the goals scored and conceded.
  5. They should get rid of this system generally as it is open to abuse, if a player blatantly wastes time he gets booked but how do you send off a ball boy or girl? lol
  6. Have to say Surman has been pants in the last two games. He doesnt look willing to put a shift in, on Saturday against Swansea he looked like he was struggling to run and I thought he was very negative when he got the ball. He seems to always need to go backwards before going forwards. He has talent but where''s his Holty passion.
  7. How can you buy somebody who isn''t for sale. Bennett was never available and CMS was being sold by Dick Turpin aka Barry Fry for extortionate amounts.
  8. Need a quick hat trick Simeon.....come on you beauty...!! Ok a brace will do tonight...lol
  9. At least he is doing his job, what we''d give for a clean sheet!!
  10. Thought Pacheco played better when he came deeper in the second half, first half he was just out muscled by their central defenders. Having said that, I did think he didn''t get much support from those around him although at times he was trying to beat too many. Hopefully the team will have learnt a bit more about him but thought Pacheco should have scored from his first chance. I think he grew into the game and thought PL took him off at the wrong time as he was starting to worry the Swansea back four when coming from deep. Against Watford I think he should be played in the Wes role if Hooly is not playing.
  11. Have to say Holt didn''t have a good game but he tried unlike the lead footen Surman. Think it was a bad day at the office for all concerned including PL.
  12. Have to say that Ruddy has come on leaps and bounds but he doesn''t seem that mobile when diving for the ball. Infact I''ll go as far as to say he dives like a bag of concrete as their is no spring when he dives. If you look at the Leicester goal and others that he has dived for, he doesn''t seem to stop many. Having said that the whole defence looked like a tin pot operation on saturday, they were so nervous and Ward/ Whitbread were too slow and made too many errors which they brought alot on themselves. Hopefully they will have a better game together on tuesday. OTBC
  13. Have to say that Tierney has a hard act to follow in replacing Drury. I feel both Martin and Tierney when going forward are poor at delivering decent crosses. The amount of times both have got into a great position then only to put in a poor cross and lose possesion as a result. Noting on saturday, when their keeper had been injured (or waisting time) why Tierney didn''t throw it to where their keeper was to test him. At times we show our naivety but we are quiet a young team. Lastly, Tierney was trying to get Holts attention which some one else has pointed out too and that hardly comes across as snarling. We should not forget there is plenty of noise in the stadium as well to deal with. OTBC
  14. My belated thought from yesterday having been at the game then watching backing on sky, is we can play whatever formation and players but we have to do the basics. Forget about Wes not playing as we could have played for 2 hours and still not scored. If you make chances which we did, and don''t convert them the tactics pale into insignificance. We were outfought, out played and out defended and we move on. Some of the players have to take a look at themselves. Surman didn''t look interested and ran around like he was wearing lead boots and we looked too light weight. Roll on tuesday.
  15. Have to say Crofts was decent today for his effort, admitedly part of his game was missing today but he showed more intent than Surman. Thought it was a bad day at the office and we move on. We need to learn from it as the game was never a 3-0 result but it we don''t take our chances and gift the other team a few gilt edged chances we are going to struggle in games. We couldn''t hit a barn door yesterday, seemed we used up all our luck in front of goal last weekend.
  16. Have to say I think Ward does suffer with pace against him but was amazed to see him getting out on the wing to cross the ball into the box in the second half. Plus the incident when trying to get the Swansea player to take the throw in was no worse than when their keeper went down feigning injury where he didn''t get booked. At least he showed character unlike Surman who didn''t look bothered. Morty, have you been watching Chicken Little, just the reference to Chicken Licken and the sky falling in...lol
  17. Noticed yesterday that Swansea''s shooting was near perfect where as ours was woeful. Holt and Pacheco''s shooting just didn''t come close and along with Smiths double effort just summed up the difference. Have to say we just had a really bad day at the office and think we were too lightweight in midfield. Also think PL''s subs were wrong yesterday, as Pacheco was starting to come deep and become more involved in the game and Crofts at least was making takles. Have to say was not impressed with Surman, Fox, and Ward but lets see what happens on tuesday. Surman should look at the captains effort when chasing back, Holt showed character in chasing back whereas Surman looked like he couldn''t be bothered.
  18. Have to say yesterday the passing wasn''t great and Fox was too predictable. Too often the opposition read the passses better than our players.
  19. Have to say that Brendan Rodgers has to be given credit for how Swansea play the game in a division that allows alot of teams just to out muscle their opponents. I am in no way saying that I''d want him here too, but he is in charge of the only other team I believe who plays the game in the right way. Where I believe PL stands above the rest is in his experience of playing in Germany and how he manages/motivates the team. OTBC
  20. I get the feeling that PL is not in favour with some media outlets (as he doesn''t invite the media in like people such as Harry Redknapp) and as a result is not part of the ''Old boys network'' on sky. Watford''s results in March weren''t as good as NCFC, but I am sure PL won''t be losing any sleep over it. If you can explain why he wasn''t even mentioned in the nominations then can you tell me your lottery numbers. ;) OTBC
  21. As Wacky Waving said, he is great for one season and has a good reputation about keeping a team up for one season. Where he falls down is when he has to build relationships with players in that second season, so he may be ideal for Villa. By the sound of it the Villa players are already peeved off so bringing Roeder in won''t be too drastic!!
  22. Nexus, I am not saying we need CMS but just the fact PL was at the game and there may be something in it. Am sure PL isn''t there just to take in a game to fill and evening. Who knows?
  23. Regardless of what Claridge says its down to us. I think he has been fair to us by complimenting Lamberts recruitment policy of getting lower league players. He has played under a few managers too and doesn''t miss a trick either!!
  24. Heard on talksport tonight that PL was seen at the Dagenham/Peterborough game. Does it have anything to do with the CMS saga, I am clutching here so might be something to do with the investment. Lets find out what it is tomorrow!! OTBC
  25. I am really glad that Jackson got his goals, he looked after each goal went in that a little weight was lifted off his shoulders. Well done to him for that  and hopefully with the hat trick under his belt he can play with a smile on his face.  He obviously has talent and a brace at The Liberty stadium next week will carry on that feel good factor for him along with a goal from Holt and Pacheco too!!
