1.
Mike Newell was on 5 Live tonight (just taken over at Grimsby) and said he was interviewed for the Norwich job after PG left. Not trying to make a point just passing on information.
Straight talking, honest guy, thats probably why he didn''t get the job, better to have a yes man or a bull sh..er
2. Ive heard GR''s explanation for sitting in the stands and although it''s against my way of thinking, I could almost accept it, if he was a successful manager but he clearly isn''t, he''s a failure, If sitting in the dugout is good enough for Sir Alex and good enough for Marty O''Neill [MBE] it''s good enough for an abject shitehawk like GR.Coming down from the stands when things are going wrong is already too late! stay in the dugout and make sure things are going right! and while I''m at it, at least have the decency to wear a f@ckin tracksuit, may not make you a better manager but at least you will look like one!!
3. Good post Dapps, agree with every word, GR''s best record at every club seems to be when he is forced to play the existing players left by the previous manager, the more he tinkers the worse it all gets, at Norwich his best patch was while playing the bulk of Grant''s team in the positions they were meant to play inShould he be in the dugout for the full 90?  if he comes down from the stand when the going gets tough because he needs greater control, surely he has answered his own question where he should be from the onset!
4. Never rated GR from the start [back read my posts if you don''t believe me] He comes across as very arrogant, dislikeable and all a bit control freaky, If you are at best an average manager, which GR is, you need to at least have a personality which wins the full support of the very average players who are playing for you.Cluffy might have got away with it but he was a bit special, GR clearly isn''t.
5. One month should be long enough, long enough for GR to slag him off in the press, play him out of position, ruin his confidence and send him back as a broken left back
6. You don''t want to go spoiling her.... at that age she will probably remember the war years and times of austerity, I reckon some bully beef sandwiches wrapped in newspaper should do the trick
7.
I personally do not think we are any better than 12 months ago. We have already failed to beat some very very mediocre teams and in most games so far we have never looked like scoring. OK the players pulled themselves together upon Roeder''s arrival last year to avoid relegation - just. However with his persistent team changes which in most cases defy basic logic I already think he has lost the plot and support of several players. He clearly has his favourites and won''t be moved. Pattison and Fotheringham appear to be first on the team sheet although many pollsters don''t rate them for this Division. Week after week we see players instructed to play in unfamiliar positions. At the moment we do not have anything approaching a settled team. Most worrying is the lack of skill and quality throughout the team. This showed up last week when Drury after a long lay off looked a class above the rest of the team and then is dropped. Hoolhan is a footballer compared with the rest of the midfielders but on most occasions cannot find space to play a bit because the so called ball winners in turn never give him a decent pass - as was the case with Huckerby. I can see no improvement in skill in any position or player since Roeder arrived. In the second half against Sheff Utd a lot of our play revolved around passing the ball back to Marshall and he hoofed it high in the air. I am afraid it begins to look like another grim season.
Totally agree - as I''ve said before - the more GR tinkers the worse we get! the only decent string of results he''s put together, was when he was forced to play the bulk of Grants squad in the positions they were supposed to play, that was almost 12 months ago when he first took over.In his [GR''s] defence the squad does look slightly stronger on paper, however results indicate no improvement whatsoever, other than  45 mins against Birmingham, performances are as dire ever!
8. The more GR tinkers the worse it gets, The final third of last season confirms this! the best results he has achieved have come when forced to play the bulk of Grants squad in the positions they were supposed to play. Just keep it simple Glen and leave the clever stuff to managers like Martin O''Neill, Mike Walker, Dave Stringer and John Bond...
9.
Seem to have all played too much football manager and thus assume they know better than Glenn when it comes to managing our team. We could easily have lost this game today, had we played more expansively as some seem to want - sometimes away from home you''ve just got to accept a point and move on.
I''ve never played Football Manager but a very, very lucky point against the bottom league team isn''t exactly great which ever way you dress it up!
10.
Because they are playing in black on saturday!!!http://www.canaries.premiumtv.co.uk/page/NewsDetails/0,,10355~1403508,00.html
The kit looks okay to me, feel sorry for the guy modelling it though, looks like he''s spent the last 10 years riding a horse - what the devil is wrong with his legs? no wonder we don''t win many games, he must get nutmegged every game!
11.
Just been on the phone to my Brother in Brum, The latest out of St Andrews now is Season ticket holders can,// Now here''s the funny bit, S T holders can take up to 5 friends or family members for a £5 each, now if that is not desperation I don''t know what is
Seems like a good idea to me! perhaps NCFC should take it a step further and make five players share the same wage!
12.
according to glenn roeder mark fotheringham a fantastic human being . is glenn roeder religious
Well the last time I saw GR he was building this huge boat out of wood, said something about heavy rain on the way and wanted to get two players of every type!
13. He''s been carried off the pitch so many times, he''s had handles sown on his shorts! - stay well clear
14. So what we are saying is - one disastrous season after another - is all down to Smudger? - Sounds a tad simplistic to me!
15. For what it''s worth and to get things even more into perspective - we were still in the Carling Cup at this stage during the two previous seasons
16. We finished 17th and 3 points from relegation last year,  we are now 18th and 2 points from relegation - well at least GR is reasonably consistent!
17. Positives - It seems referees are quite determined to cut the opposition down to 10 men [probably because they feel sorry for us] this should enable us to get at least a couple more wins this season
18. One dodgy win in seven and we can''t score goals, how many points have we picked up over the last 25 games? - the stadium manager had to go, if I was GR I would re-sack Neil Adams after this display!
19. I didn''t go tonight either......had better things to do...... thought I''d stay in and wash my sideburns - good choice by the sound of it!
20. Will GR still be here in November? - possible we did have a good 45 mins against Birmingham
21. Perhaps if the seats can''t be removed, they could be replaced by bigger more comfy seats instead........ big comfy armchairs for everyone! our capacity would be reduced by half but hey! the club could charge three times as much for a seat, thus making a handsome profit!....... the stewards wouldn''t have a problem getting people to sit down, as everyone would be too relaxed to stand up!...... and if the game gets dull we can just pull the lever on our Parker Knolls, lay back, feet up, for a 90 min power nap! - all in all every-one''s a winner!!
22. Perhaps GR has realised he''s kicked too many people out the back door and has no one left to kick out, so wants to hoard a few up, so he can kick them back out again when the going gets tough
23. ''If I had the wings of a sparrow, If I had the arse of a crow''Was always quite catchy in an ornithological way, pity we don''t have songs like that anymore, perhaps we were more in touch with wildlife and our environment back in the day.second verse -''I''d fly over Ipswich tomorrow And sh!t on the b@stards below''
24. I was at the Brighton game, can still remember the bits of concrete raining down on us, Jimmy Case seemed to control things in midfield, a dodgy goal and chaos from start to finish. Remember going to the Baseball stadium, Derby around that period for an important cup game and it was a complete no show, remember travelling back wondering how we could have played that bad and it was bad, very bad!
