1. If Watford win the title does Bassong get a winners medal? I remember somewhere Peter Crouch getting one for us as he played more than 10 games. Bassong played 11 for Watford
2. That is dead right Alartz. It seems every prediction has Bournemouth going up automatically but just one draw and they could be third. With fewer and fewer games to go the margins will get smaller and smaller. A dodgy penalty, a sending off, a goal against the run of play and a win becomes a draw and that''s the autos down the toilet. If we (or anyone else) wins their last three games I think that will be enough. Someone has to drop points sooner or later don''t they?!
3. The pressure will be off (a little) because if Watford lose against Forrest we can afford to draw against Boro and still guarantee automatic promotion by winning the last two games.
4. Could happen again this year - be good if at least one pulls out of it (excepting QPR of course!)
5. I think that is a really big point Paul. On Friday they had a tough game but won and ended up 4 points clear. They must have thought they would have gained on at least one of the other top 4 teams by the end of the week-end. As it happens they are back where they were, just a draw away from dropping out of the autos. The pressure is mounting on everyone and who knows who might break. Exciting isn''t it!
6. A draw allows us to draw against Boro and still finish above them and Watford.
7. Can''t get that tune out of my head now Morty!
8. Bournemouth Norwich Watford Boro Derby Wolves Don''t see any signs of Bournemouth slowing down to be honest and they have the easiest run in so think they''ll win it. Very tight between us and Watford and could even be down to goal difference. Their defence is their weakness and could cost them an unexpected result somewhere. Trouble is the same could be said of us.
9. Manager was spot on imo. They never looked like scoring the whole game while we took the lead and had plenty of other chances. We only drew because of a error by Ruddy nothing to do with how we were set up or team selection. The manager put everything in place for us to win the game. One unfortunate mistake stopped that happening, nothing else.
10. Completely agree Kurious. he can be a pain but he says what he thinks and doesn''t sit on the fence. Who wants to listen to most of the others who manage to get through the entire program without expressing an opinion on anything at all in case they upset the establishment. When he slated Man U''s performance the other day showing clips of them humping the ball upfield it was the first time anyone had the balls to say that van Gal''s team are playing horrible attrition football. Good for him.
11. What an embarrassing and unpleasant set of responses Til. The OP has always been welcome on here as far as I''m concerned and has done nothing to justify sad little comments relating to his nationality which quite frankly make you look pretty puerile.
12. Where would we have been without him these last few games Tim? We were already restricted to playing Whitaker in midfield only two games ago.He has good energy, a decent shot and filled in wide left very well - a position where we have no cover.
13. I went along on Saturday really up for the game looking forward to it more than I have done for months. Gradually throughout the first half that disappeared. Not only because we weren''t playing well - that happens. But the style of play was terrible. It was like watching a poor mans Stoke City at their worst. It went on and on. By the end of the game I was totally deflated. I never boo and it didn''t cross my mind to do so this time either. To my mind it is totally counter productive and immature. But that''s just me and the way I am - I just get miserable. Other people react differently and I can absolutely see why there was a lot of anger and frustration in the ground. The team selection was poor, the tactics were poor, the commitment levels were poor and long term decision making at the club for over a year has been abject. An opportunity to establish ourselves as a Premiership team has been frittered away and based on Saturday''s performance it will be some time before that chance comes again. Of course some people booed - what ever else do you expect?
14. If you suddenly introduce hoofball tactics then it''s going to take the centre forward a while to get used to having to get back onside more quickly. Jerome wasn''t cought offside so often when we played the ball on the deck for the other 26 games
15. Sorry LDC but I thought it was a penalty too. Went to ground and came through the back of the guy. Maybe the guy went over easily but can''t really blame him for that. Just rank bad defending, in keeping with the rest of the game
16. It''s all about us and our own performances. The results this week show just how much of a muchness the teams at the top are. Particularly Bournemouth and Ipswich in my opinion. I don''t think the target will be as high as in some years because of this and if we play to the top of our ability we can make it. Unfortunately we haven''t consistently done so yet this season so Neil need to be able to change things for the better. Nice to feel excited about the prospect though at last!
17. Unfortunately that is one big proviso Barclay!
18. Things change. There are times when a club needs to build up its squad, for instance after a relegation where departures are likely and loans come to an end. Then there are times when the first 11 need to be improved, for instance when fine tuning in January where one or two impact buys might provide the boost needed for a promotion push.
19. I don''t normally pay much attention to his ratings as to be honest they are pretty meaningless in the scheme of things. I must admit though that I did notice how the low ratings were and hardly reflected a real backs to the wall battling display. Maybe he doesn''t know what he''s talking about Ryan Bennett getting marked as 4 out of 10 when he was only on the pitch for 8 minutes was very odd.
20. Lets be honest nobody on here knows anything about the guy. The board and McNally in particular are paid handsomely to know who''s out there and what their qualities are. In that respect we have to trust that he knows what he''s doing. The trouble is the track record isn''t good is it!
21.
Fortnight is too long....needs to be done in the next 4 days. It had better be a high profile appointment and not another inexperienced cop out........problem is limited managers out there. For those who want Howe......former youth coach at Bournmouth who failed at Burnley.......might be that he fits Bournmouth but not a club like ours.
I hope we get someone in a lot quicker than that! When Gunn went we went straight after Lambert obviously because we had been preparing for the change and had already identified his replacement. Enough of scoring Europe and holding interviews. The board''s job is to know who is out there and who they want based on their record and strengths and need to go get the man they should have already pinpointed.
