1. I’m pleased for Marco but I’m even more pleased I don’t have to listen to the one idiot that sits near me that would previously slate him for doing something wrong before he’d even touched the ball last season. I don’t have to hear his constant whiny drivel at the minute. Thanks Mr Stiepermann. Keep it going.
2. I’ve always rated the guy very highly. As a character he’s a refreshing change from many of the big ego characters that swamp the modern game. When you consider the standard from which he came as well I think he’s been outstanding on the whole. Sure he has a mistake in him,who doesn’t, but when he makes a mistake you can see it hurts him and you can visibly see the guy is desperate to improve and take his chance. Top bloke, top player, and destined to become a big player for us long term I think. An honorary Norfolk boy in the making.
3. I’m not a fan of the points deduction thing. In my opinion all that does is penalise the fans ultimately. The owners should be the ones fined - personally I reckon
4. I just keep pondering the thinking behind why Farke chose to replace Timm Klose with Ben Godfrey on Sunday. I know it’s a bit random and a bit late after the game but I just wondered what people’s thoughts were. I can’t seem to see what his thought process for choosing Godfrey over Zimmermann would have been, especially keeping in mind we already had two youngsters in the back line. I’m not saying it was an incorrect decision, just wondering what people’s thoughts were on why he went for Godfrey and not Zimmermann.
5. When this thread started, 1p5wich had already been waiting nearly 4 years to beat us!!
6. What worries me most about Godfrey isn’t the position he plays for us but the very fact of him actually playing for us regularly and us getting the benefit from him. What would disappoint me is, if he’s as good as he’s being touted, that we take an age to integrate him and before you know it, a big offer comes in, he’s sold and he has about a dozen full 90’s to his name with us. I can’t help but think we lost a season out of Maddison because we were reluctant to give him a chance.
7. Knowing how our football club is run I would more likely expect - after a derby defeat - our current head coach to have a lucrative 5 year contract slapped in front him than to be shown the exit door!
8.
Russell Martin?
To be honest, this may not be as ridiculous as it sounds (or something similar). Maybe we should consider a caretaker approach and wait for the right candidate or rather pro actively seek the right candidate without the need for a knee jerk appointment. Just a thought.
9. It’s because fans have been conditioned to accept failure and because the club have invested so heavily in this setup they won’t be able to get themselves out of it.
10. What actually is his current injury and what was it originally. I genuinely cant remember. Feel sorry for the guy. I can’t go down the heartless route because there is no way in the world he wants to be in this situation.
11. I think it’s great. Bit different to the usual modern day shirt styles and I love me the slight retro late 80’s early 90’s feel to it. After all that was a golden era for football imo
12. Better than Zimmermann and hanley with the ball at his feet? Wow! Isn’t it funny how we all see a different game because I actually think zimmernann’s distribution is very decent, ditto Hanley. Don’t want to hammer the guy but Russ has been shocking for us really since he decided he was no longer a full back. A superb pro by all accounts and maybe he is a decent character to have around the club and may develop into a fine coach but right now, if he is to stay with us, he’s a bench player at best in my opinion.
13. This is an odd one. You’d have thought he’d have continued playing for someone. He’s still only 32 but seems to have just vanished.
14. I see Mitchell Dijks still doesn’t appear to be settled. Might be willing to lower his demands maybe? Would anyone else like to see that one? Could see him fitting into a back three if I’m honest. I’d take him
15. Time for a big love in for Leitner against Leeds then. Convince him that he prefers being in England after all
16. Broadstairs, that just rekindled a memory for me. For some strange reason I have a clear memory of reading an interview with Jon Newsome just a few months after he joined us. When asked about how things differed at Norwich from being a Leeds I remember he remarked about how training at city at that time was almost all about skills and fitness with very little regard to tactics and almost nothing on opposition tactics. For some reason it''s stuck with me reading that and I can''t help but sometime feel it''s a shame how football has become so tactical and clinical. It was enjoyable watching 11 v 11 going s**t or bust for a win.
17. Were things really that bad in the first half. A double half time substitution is quite a rare thing!
18. What worries me more is, if the Fulham game is the bar that''s being set regarding quality of performance then I am very worried. We did ok in that game performance wise, but 1) we still lost at home, 2) we failed to score - again, and 3) we didn''t play that well - just ok at times!
19. You''re correct purple of course but with that particular 3 game analogy I gave there I was talking purely from an entertainment perspective. Quite simply, the football, currently, is boring in my opinion and that''s a huge shame cos I''m sure you''ll agree, we all like to be up of our seats.
20. I like Daniel Farke, and I don''t want him gone, and I understand the scale of transition etc etc, but I can''t keep kidding myself, the football is s**t. It can''t be justified in my opinion. Football is as much about entertainment as it is results. I''d genuinely prefer winning one game and losing two by playing out an entertaining, attacking philosophy rather than a pass it to Gunny philosophy and draw three!! The brand of football is so depressing but what makes it more depressing is I like Farke as our coach but I want him to wake up and smell the coffee - his system, on our budget, will not bring us success in the championship.
21. I''m living the Zimmermann defending after he makes a balls up, kind of recovers, slips in his arse then shoves his head in the way while laying on the deck. I absolutely love that guy. Such an honest player that gives everything he''s got
22. Hercules? I''m just curious. Why are you so abrasive in so many of your posts?
