nutty nigel 7,534 Posted December 11, 2013 Greetings PUPs and welcome to week 18 of the Rays Funds season. In thehot seat this week we have a real star with Purple Canary in charge and makingthe final selections. Purple is one of my favourite posters on this board and Ihave learned a lot from his insightful posts over the years. He’s also one of ourmost supportive PUPs and he helps me no end when I have decisions to make likewe had in the summer with our changing to raising funds for the CSF. Purple isalso one of our most consistent PUPs who always is around 80% in our league. Ofcourse Purple enjoys finding obscure teams. I’m never sure if this is to giveus an extra option or to take pleasure from me searching out the result![;)] Purple comes into his week in very good form so is the ideal candidateto end our 7 consecutive 5/6’s with a full house. You PUPs have been onfantastic form all season so a continuation of that should give Purple afighting chance. Don’t forget for yourselection to be considered it must be played on Sat/Sun/Mon and be listed onBet365 or William Hill websites. This week Gravycanaries is in charge of the Norwich match bet. Thisextra bet has been fantastic for getting more PUPs involved with finalselections and helps keep our great team focused. Gravy has a tough act tofollow after Jav won with 2 bets last weekend giving us 3 winning weeks so farand £34 raised for the CSF. I’m sure he’d appreciate your suggestions for ourgame against Swansea on Sunday. Good luck Gravy, our fiver is in your hands.Don’t forget the bet can be a single £5 or divided into up to five individual£1 bets. I’ve provisionally arranged the rota for January as follows : - 04/01/14 Graham Humphrey11/01/14 Cosmic Twin18/01/14 Norfolkbroadslim25/01/14 Statto And for the NCFC match bet : - 04/01/14 Hector11/01/14 The Great Drinkell As usual please let me know if these dates are ok. Now I’ll hand the thread over to PurpleCanary. Remember there’s no pressurebecause we are all going to do our best to help you get your name in the RaysFunds Hall of Fame. We all stand together with the single aim of raising moneyfor the Community Sports Foundation Good luck all you PUPs... Take it away Purple ... the thread isyours....... [:)]........ As always I leave you withRays signature which now reads :- Carve their names withpride.Yankee,4,Fellas,3,P''boro,2,Mr Chops,2,NewYork,2, Inch High,3,Blahblahblah, NCFC_Shaun, 1st Wazzock,3, Fonejacker,3, Norfolkbroadslim,Norfolkchance1,2, Scooby,3, Trent Canary, Cosmic Twin, Graham Humphrey,Leedscanary,2, NcfcStar, Herman, Delia’s Devonshire Dirtbox, Lappinitup,Statto, Mandie Moo, Mr Bump, Kathy, Til1010, Snake-eyes, Vindo, NWC yesNorfolkchance1 £2038 for the Academy, and £147 for the Community Sports Foundation. Good luck pups. I sence a big week for us.
Gingerpele 0 Posted December 11, 2013 Romania this week for me. League leaders Astra Giurgiu host 3rd from bottom side Constanta. The leaders have a 6/1/1 home record, scoring 18 conceding 5, whilst the visitors have a 0/2/6 away record scoring just 3 and letting in 19. For some reason Bet365 have Swansea as favourites for Sundays game (I think, unless my maths is letting me down...) so tempted to suggest Norwich winning outright which is 9/5. But i''m going to suggest we do the same as last week and win both halves, which is 8/1. And just because I always do it this way, for Purple my pick this week is;Astra Giurgiu vs Constanta- Home win!Good luck :)

PurpleCanary 5,558 Posted December 11, 2013 Thanks for the introduction, nutty, even if I didn''t recognise the paragon you were describing there! That said, based on my previous two efforts I think I can pretty much guarantee an end to our run of five out six...(wink, wink etc).It is true I do look for obscure games but PUPs should not diverge from their picking habits on my account. If PUPs could have their selection posted by 7pm UK time that would be helpful.Good luck to all! norfolkchance1 0 Posted December 12, 2013 Chelsea to beat Palace for me this week. For the Norwich bet, I quite fancy us to do better later in the game as Swansea will be playing their third game in a short space of time. PurpleCanary 5,558 Posted December 12, 2013 For the NCFC bet, since he is taking the penalties, I fancy Hooper to score two or more goals, at 14-1.
nutty nigel 7,534 Posted December 12, 2013 I''m going Dutch with Tilly this week! However I''m going for Vitesse (who are W5 D1 L1 F16 A6 at home) to beat NAC Breda (who are W1 D2 L5 F10 A20 away). Vitesse have won their last 5 games scoring 16 and conceding 3. This included a victory at Ajax and last week they won 6-2 at PSV. Vitesse v NAC Breda Home Win As for the Norwich bet, Josh Murphy may well get his first taste of Carrow Road action if he''s used as he was last weekend. So howabout Josh Murphy to score last at 14/1. Josh Murphy to score last. Good luck everyone!

Hector Brockelbank 95 Posted December 12, 2013 Athletico Madrid v Valencia home win.Athletico are flying and look genuine challengers for la liga title where Valencia appear to be another victim of Thursday night football and are having a season well below there normal standards. At around the 1/3 mark Athletico look like the weekends bankers. For the match bet how about Redmond to sort his end product out and score anytime at 5-1.4th Jan is good with me for the match bet nutty. Graham Humphrey 13 Posted December 13, 2013 FA Trophy for me this week, and I think Aldershot (who sit 21st in the Conference but would be in 14th without their ten point deduction) will beat their lower ranked opponents Worcester City (20th in the Conference North and with only two league wins all season).Good luck Purple and all PUPs. R Mellie 0 Posted December 13, 2013 To the Bundesliga this week I think, and I''m plumping for Bayer 04 Leverkusen V Eintracht Frankfurt HOME win please. For the Norwich bet, I think there are already a number of really good shouts, I like the look of Hooper/Fer scoring and the half-time draw, full time Norwich win, but my suggestion is a 1 nil Norwich win , Hooper to score. Good luck Purple & Gravy, and best of luck to all pups.
