Syteanric 1 Posted January 14, 2009 Deal with it people.... because it aint gonna happen! We are stuck with glen till his contract runs out and he can leave the club with no payoff.... Sacking him, finding compensation to pay him, stephenson and the other bloke off, then hiring a new manager, possible compensation from his club and ten hiring the staff they want (plus yet more compensation if they are employed elsewhere) is going to cost the club a fortune.... Protests against gen all you want, its not going to make 1 jot of difference.. he wont get pushed so he has to jump.. which wont happen.... jas :)

TheCardinal 0 Posted January 14, 2009 And you know this because...?I suspect it''s an assumption based on our poor financial position. For what it''s worth, I think if we wanted to, the money could be found.
canarydan23 4,762 Posted January 14, 2009 Very few sacked managers received the full terms of their contract. So sacking him and employing a new manager on a fraction of his wages (I''d imagine Mark Robins fits that bill) would actually cost only marginally more than keeping him here until the end of his contract. The only difference is, with a new man at the helm, relegation isn''t a certainty. And that is something we can''t afford.I wish people would stop with the "can''t afford to sack him" nonsense. Inch High aka Inchy.. 417 Posted January 14, 2009 I dont think I''ve ever disagreed with you Jas, but this time I do.I believe if need be the money could be found. A stint in the 1st division would cost the the club a lot more than paying Roeder off and the club will have to fund the lesser of the 2 evils in a effort to right things before it''s too late. They know that they made big mistakes when they hired the last two managers and this was after they''d dithered far too long over Worthington''s decline. The Board need to take immediate firm action to give us at least a fighting chance of avoiding the drop as they know as well as the rest of us that their latest appointment isn''t going to work. Glenn Roeder has alienated himself by his attitude to the fans and he''ll not be able recover from that. The popularity of the Board is at an all time low, so, if and until a buyer for the Club is found they have an opportunity to show the fans that they''re not quite as out of touch with us as we believe them to be.Decisive action needs to be taken. I think they''ll take it.

Willzy65 0 Posted January 14, 2009 I think we need to get rid of him pretty quick. As has been said before, if we stick with him I think we will go down. This in turn will effect money coming in and we would be in even more financial trouble than we are now. If we can get a new manager the worst that will happen is we will go down. But hopefully we can turn it around. You never know, if we get a new manager then Hucks can come back and play. Could really do with him at the moment just for some excitement. They are too busy being nice! I know we dont want a club that is just sacking people or a manger every few months if things are not working out, but when the club is going the way it is, its time to be a bit more ruthless! Inevatibly it mat happen in a few months but that is leaving it too late. We need to sack Roeder now, giving us a chance to turn things around for the future, this season and beyond! whoareyou? 0 Posted January 14, 2009 £2 million to sack Roeder and his assistants? How much do you think he is earning??? I''d be every surprised if he is on more than £10k per week maximum!
