Lord Flashheart 0 Posted November 16, 2008 SC : I don''t think anyone wants a manager that "can''t do any worse". We''d like to see improvement.

Yellowbeagle 0 Posted November 16, 2008 Returning managers usually struggle to recreate past glories.
bringbackterraces 0 Posted November 16, 2008 While Worthy was undoubtedly our best manager since Mike Walkers first spell at the club in the early 90''s he stayed a year too long and it probably wouldn''t work out the 2nd time around much the same as Walkers 2nd spell with us! Peter Grant was cr*p and despite all his talk so is Glen Roeder! New board and new manager required ASAP!
Canary Pirate 0 Posted November 16, 2008 This is the classic question for fickle fans. When things ain''t going great its always a case of the grass being greener on the other side......until you get get there, when you find its a sh***y brown colour and it wasn''t quite as bad as you thought where you came from. eg Chase out, Delia in, Delia out, Peter Cullum in, Cullum out, next mug in. Its the same with managers and always will be ! Here''s to the future [:(][:D][:@][<:o)][|-)]
singing canary 0 Posted November 16, 2008 the grass is greener on the other side, this is a football club not a thrown together ready meal , we are in a better position than many clubs in the championship said delia.if you look at the performances and the bad management decisions that have been made and points on the board it dont look too healthy hardly fickle. Mello Yello 2,293 Posted November 16, 2008 Nutella Nigella would cream himself - if Worthy returned.....[:D]
GJP 79 Posted November 16, 2008 I would think Worthy returning would also surely mean the return of the Dazzler.
Thecanaryfan 0 Posted November 16, 2008 I would have him back. He was better than both Grant and Roeder put together.
we beat munich in munich 0 Posted November 16, 2008 i would have him back he brought darren huckerby and dion dublin to this club we need new investment thats the problem
Beauseant 0 Posted November 16, 2008 No. We need to go forward, not back. I was thrilled when Walker came back, but it was never the same.
Dicky 0 Posted November 16, 2008 We should never have got rid of him. Driven out by fickle fans who had their expectations raised by Worthy''s achievements.
alex_ncfc 662 Posted November 16, 2008
No. We need to go forward, not back. I was thrilled when Walker came back, but it was never the same.
I think had Mike Walker came back during the Worthy years (when we actually spent some money) we would have been in for some very good times. A great shame that he came back when he did, when we had to play the youngsters (but they were quality youngsters, and at least he had faith in them) and didn''t have a pot to piss in (familiar) Thankfully his second spell does not tarnish the achievements of his first. Jimmy Bone - Superstar 2 Posted November 16, 2008 Yes, Boothroyd or Age Hareide, but with no money to spend I guess it might be too late for this season.
Paul Spector 0 Posted November 16, 2008 Those saying he was no good would do well to remember that we actually won this division with him at the helm.
anothatracksuitmanager 0 Posted November 16, 2008 and he''s doing a marvellous job at northern ireland isn''t he, there was a reason he left in the first place. we were 17th when he left. the next move needs to be a positive forward step with a new man given a new try hopefully with a new board behind him. Shaker 0 Posted November 16, 2008 YESSSSSSSSSSSS Spot on Dicky, its a pity some of the mugs on here who drove him out, for finishing ninth by the way cant see what a top manager he was. And a man who loves this club even after the treatment he got.
Syteanric 1 Posted November 16, 2008
well ha cant do any worse than the others delias brought in atferwards... and we did win the championship with him,
and got relegated from the Premiership when it proved he was completely out of his depth... i''d cry if he came back.. he wouldnt save us....jas :)
Syteanric 1 Posted November 16, 2008
I would think Worthy returning would also surely mean the return of the Dazzler.
no... it wouldnt.. and this is the last time im going to say this on this board.. HE IS UNDER CONTRACT TO SAN JOSE AND WILL NEED A TRANSFER FEE TO BUY HIM...... WE HAVE NO MONEY!!!!!!!!Jas :)
AJ 1,221 Posted November 16, 2008 More to the point, why the hell would Worthy want to come back here?!He achieved a lot here, and has gone on to become and International manager.Congratulations to him, and thanks for your time here, it was one of the best runs a manager has had in modern day at our helm.
