The Horse 0 Posted September 30, 2007 Well he certainly wasn''t playing centre forward as that position was taken by Huckerby...
Mook 0 Posted September 30, 2007 This is complete horse-dung.He was one of our best players yesterday, he dropped for the ball, showed feet, won all his headers, held up the ball well and tried to tackle back. He''s totally wasted on on this team, and most of our fans too. If others showed his willingness to show for the ball and take responsibility, maybe he could go and stand in the sodding box and make a nuisance of himself. And yes, I was at the game. whoareyou? 0 Posted September 30, 2007 Mook is right. He was one of our better players yesterday. If others showed a willingness to play off him, then maybe we would score some goals.I would be sorely tempted to play a 3 man strike force on Tuesday with Brown being the centre of the three and Cureton and Hucks or Big Dave playing off him. Before others get carried away with his poor scoring record they need to realise that we need to address the overwhelmng problem of just competing. On that score he was definately one our better players yesterday.

Syteanric 1 Posted September 30, 2007 remind me again mook how many goals he has scored....we are 21st in the divions.. Brown can play "well" every week.. but he isnt scoing.... we need to play someone who has scored... mr Strihavka.jas :)
Mister Chops 7 Posted September 30, 2007 If Chris Brown was to score five goals a season, but set up players like Cureton for fifteen or twenty, he''d be worth playing - like a thinner younger and less capable (!) Emile Heskey. But to do that, he needs to be the target man and play up front.Yesterday, he seemed to be in right midfield a lot of the time, which meant Cureton was the target man, and when Brown did go up front in the 2nd half, he missed several headers in a row. The only good thing I saw from him, other than an ability to try hard for the team (and I think most players give you that, to be honest) was the backheel to Spillane. To be honest, I think he tries hard, which is more than some other players, but 100% of very little is not much to shout about. lucky green trainers 0 Posted September 30, 2007 what is this ''capable'' chris brown BS??? he''s clearly not upto the job. mind you, he''s not the only city player seemingly incapable of anything other than passing sideways or back. brown isn''t a patch on iwan - he''s a league 1 player, and maybe a next season player for us if he strengthens further.....but then league 1 looks most likely our destination next season than the prem???can anyone on here seriously suggest brown is as good or better than iwan was??? Dowp End 0 Posted September 30, 2007 Amazing as how many people who were at the game have such differing opinions on Chris Browns performance. What I saw was a slow lumbering tired looking player who did not seem to know his role in the side. Dont think I saw him once set Cureton up. I did see him chasing lost causes and backing out of challenges. Would much rather have seen Dave The Striker given a decent run out at least he appears to have some energy and looks hungry for the ball.
Graham Humphrey 13 Posted September 30, 2007 Brown did set Jarvis up early on. And I think the reaction when he was subbed was out of order - he might not be particularly good, but he did okay first half out of position and at least he doesn''t hide like so many of our players do. And it''s not as if the rest of the side is free-scoring is it?

ZLF 335 Posted September 30, 2007 Mook and ors are right - Brown worked hard in a completely unfamiliar position and was one of the better players - but that is more an indictment of the rest of the team than real praise for brown.

He wins the ball, flicks it on, holds it up and has good link up play. It pi*ses me off when people slate him to be honest.

This chump is a sure fired contender for the all time worst eleven in years to come of that there is absolutely no doubt at all. Chris Brown makes Keith Scott look like an international superstar and Dean Coney must be revelling in the news that finally after 20 years of trying Norwich has finally found a striker as hopeless as him. Rock on brother. He can’t run, he can’t shoot and has the first touch and positional sense of a Frisian and yet you actually think this goon is ok? Go on, tell me Daryl Sutch was good, really try and finish me off as you are doing a damn fine job with the thought that Chris Brown is anything other than a truly wretched footballer None the less you may choose to observe that the reason he looked ok yesterday was because it was without doubt one of the worst teams to ever grace Carrow Road where even the mighty Sutchy Boy on one of his multitude of bad days would have looked ok Dear God I’ve really heard it all now Keep the ------ faith
ZLF 335 Posted October 1, 2007 So just how many goals have any of our strikers bagged in the last 4 games? If players are not scoring they have to contribute in other ways.Cureton currently looks like an expensive Peter Thorne - a man with a good record but a shadow of that in a yellow shirt and currently unable to move, link up or look like scoringStrihavka scored on easy goal 5 games ago yet has not made a contribution since - moves well, but so did Nuryev but he was another eastern european who didnt looking like scoring in yellow. Its damns the rest of the strikers that at least Brown IS contributing to the game by linking up withh is team mates. Hux looks like he is sulking but despite his atrocious crossing remains our second most likely source of a chance being created for a goal, behind set pieces from Lappins boot - hence his only logical reason for being picked. Marty 0 Posted October 1, 2007 OK, his stats are not great but he was no where near the worst player on Saturday. but then we need a scapegoat for when the team fails to win. Why does Cureton, who was pretty averge (and that''s being polite) never get half the grief? the team is letting us down, not 1 player, or even two players, but 11 players. To be fair Shef Wed were a touch lucky, we were stronger than them and they get a slightly lucky goal, these things happen.
