You can travel down to Bristol on the 17th if you like. It's a lovely city, with lots to do.

The football, however, is being played on Tuesday 16th January.

Regardless of whether it’s Tue or Wed there’ll be only one team playing football.

Does that mean Rovers are playing on Tuesday and we will arrive on Wednesday? Almost certainly now Anfield is their incentive

Liverpool away, replay academic then.

Yep. the last thing we need is a few hundred thousand gate money

Whereas it could have been B'mouth or Brentford with a defeat likely, but naff all in gate money

My concern would be national humiliation if the game against Liverpool was chosen for TV. I'd settle for losing to Bristol Rovers, than losing by a cricket score against Liverpool

Can’t we just withdraw and give the replay to the Gasmen ? It’ll be a good day out for them and we’ll avoid getting humiliated by their Academy kids.

Win-win

That can be arranged if you can provide the income we’ll miss out on from reaching the 4th round and the potential gate money.

You have to ask yourself is a decent few quid worth the embarrassment ?

Tricky one ( not )

Give Bristol the replay, would save on flight bills and booze costs for Delia.

There is the not so small matter of beating our 3rd Round opponents first. Don’t let’s get ahead of ourselves ( wink )

Maybe the Club have got it wrong again. It wouldn't be the first time, would it?

That's the spirit that got us to the semi final in '59, knocked Man Utd out in '67

To be fair the good old BBC has been pretty flaky in recent years so I’ll lay my hat on the club being right on this one.

F uck that....throw the replay

I'd rather we have a 2 week break than go up there to get hanmered by those c#nts

Don't entirely disagree! Seen us at Anfield once, early on in the Worthy season and in true fashion we basically stood around and watched as they walked to a 3-0 win in a sterile atmosphere. No reason to expect any different if we beat Rovers. Sure we made more of an effort two seasons ago but although the score line looked close (2-1) the result was never in any doubt.

This time around it could be seriously embarrassing. Might save myself that horrendous train journey (if there are any trains that is) and the almost hour long yomp from Lime Street (and back again!).

if we do get through, we will be on the Sunday

can't play on the same day as Everton (also drawn at home) and Everton play the following Tuesday so can't put them on the Sunday

We’re not in the Championship and 3 times in the Prem for nothing…Silver Teeth will be playing his under 18’s and who knows, we might just scrape a replay at Fortress Carrow ?

Rovers will be up for the Anfield gate money as well. That 're-match' won't be walk over and only a few days before a vital league game against WBA.
