Interesting- squad numbers for Max/Milot.  I had a look at the squad yesterday and saw the numbers weren’t on yet, also noticed those two were still pictured in last year’s kit…

I think taking away Aarons' number or not assigning one to Rashica would be the club admitting they're definitely off and possibly even weakening our bargaining position in negotiations.

Giving them a number is just a token gesture really, because I'd be amazed if either of them are here when the window closes (although the Turkish window does close later).

He was no.7 prior to that.

Still a lot of work to do, should be a very different squad come deadline day. Could see a few more of the fringe players leaving on top of those with public interest too.

Personally I think McCallum has some doubt over him. Giannoulis looks to be favoured and Placheta is being pushed as a trainee left back.

Easy to forget SM was YPotS at QPR and probably wants to be starting at his age.

Yeah, I think the club would be open to selling quite a few of the squad players. Some of the youngsters will almost certainly be loaned out too.

McCallum played for the U21s yesterday. He clearly has not developed as the recruiters thought he would.

Losing the ones you have put a question mark against and those out injured, it would mean starting the season with 21 players. Of them that includes Rowe, Springett and Fisher. I also think four of that 21 are out of contract next summer, so the thought might be to shift them on while there's a possible fee. I would be surprised if we did not sign a couple of loanees before Sept 1st.

Am I right in saying McCallum is also entering the last year of his contract? Could be that they are in discussions to extend it as much as that he could also be off.

Having said that Giannoulis and Placheta are in the same position aren't they?

As for left back, hasn't Placheta played there / wing back for Poland?
