Placheta recalled

Recommended Posts

Still had a bad shin injury, but he's one I think might (not "will", just "might") benefit from the fact he's not playing for a Farke team. We've lacked pace and struggled with presses. A speedster on the flank - and Placheta's pretty good with workrate too - might make an opposing full-back or midfielder think twice.

He could be walking into a Wagner team who's reliant on wingbacks though.   I think PP playing under the last few games with Russell could've been interesting, for sure though.   Anyone know how long his injury is expected to prevail?

Either way, it's good to have another pacey wide player back as an option.  Would love to see Tzolis return too.

He's dog****. That's coming from somebody who desperately wanted him to succeed as our first Polish player. Hopefully recalled just to sell him to an Ekstakalasa team as nobody else would be interested in buying him.

The only time Placheta is the answer is when the qesution is "Which useless speed merchant who never actually outruns anybody is crossing another ball into Row Z or dribbling out of play again?"

Fairly sure he was playing wing-back at Brum.

Oh ok, that's interesting then.  Particularly if on the left.

It's crazy how someone with so much speed so rarely gets past bang average fullbacks.

Placeta is rather like Forest Gump isn't he? He's running but he doesn't know where to.

With Sam and Dimi already heralded, that's potentially 3 scapegoats in a single position - club record? 🙂

Missed McLean out - he's been left-back this season too. 😉

Placheta returned due to injury, and Ramsey's loan cut short due to injury

A mediocre team has thus been severely weakened even further!

Can't help thinking that Placheta and Hernandez would benefit from the pitch being the same length but only 10 yards wide! They could both just up and down in straight lines all match.

Who's making these decisions? Does it mean the new manager is in place?

The pinkun suggests he was sent back rather than requested to return by us.

Official site:

Przemysław Płacheta has returned to the club following a loan spell at Birmingham City.

The Poland international suffered a left tibial stress fracture earlier in the season and will now continue his rehabilitation with the club’s medical staff at the Lotus Training Centre.

He made a total of five appearances for the Blues, scoring one goal in a 2-1 win over Huddersfield on his home debut.

Arguably McLean's best performances were at left back this season.

Is he still injured? Or does the new manager want to take a look at him?

I'm sure he'll get scapegoated soon enough.

I still don’t think Placheta has been given much of a chance with us, some players are in and out of the side without finding their feet and get written off. Tzolis is in the same camp, though I think he wasn’t ready for the move.

As underwhelming as we've been recently, Placheta, when fit, is surely not the answer.

And yet somehow he made most of appearances for us in the Prem! Highlights how bad that summer window was a player that couldn’t get into our championship team is then being relied upon to do something in the prem.

He's not Sinani.

And for that reason, and that reason alone, I'm prepared to give him a chance*

*If we truly can't find another winger on loan in January.

Byram and Kenny can both play there as well, so does make sense.
