Terminally Yellow 2,484 Posted January 2, 2023 Webber says two on his list don't appear on the bookies lists. So who have we missed? Who might these two mystery men be? One name that strikes me is Steven Gerrard. Not spoken about a huge amount so far. Noton the betting lists, at least high up. There's a lot of similarities between him and Lampard - who we pursued fairly extensively last time. Makes sense he could be one of the 2?

Ken Hairy 3,781 Posted January 2, 2023 Depends if he means not high up the lists or not on them at all, if the latter then not Gerrard, if its the first I'll go for Gallardo at River Plate (formerly since yesterday), if not then Richie Wellens at Orient. Personally I think he would be really interesting and possibly what we need. Great experience of working with some top coaches and he would be keen and so motivated to do well in his first sole job. That kind of desire would translate / transpose to the team (and fans).

I spotted him a day or two ago at 33/1 and had never heard of him, but after a bit of research, looks the sort of gamble Webber would take and which I'd be quite happy with. These sort of appointments seem to be working well quite a lot recently.

keelansgrandad 6,679 Posted January 2, 2023 I love a good quiz. Nagelsmann is only 35. Sorry, just joking but they started by picking Smith. I'll throw a name in then Ryan Mason

Tommo 51 Posted January 2, 2023 Van Bronckhorst, there’s another one to add to the list. Wouldn’t want him of course but it is wild speculation after all!
