If you were interim manager would you not make at least 2 or 3 changes to get a result? Might as well lose 2-0 by trying to win it. Since then he's had time to regain some fitness and take a place on the bench, a battling effort against some monster athletes at 0-1 probably not what he needed. Russell is no manager but is also potentially expendable so while the hangover of Smith continues it makes no sense to put Adams, a permanent fixture in the club, under the cosh. Russell can take the experience and settle back to the coaching staff where he belongs having just shepherded us for a very temporary spell.
