I think he would have liked that, I have it on good authority he had a chat with their chairman, but the latter wanted an up and coming (and cheap) young manager, hence appointment of Matt Taylor. As for Wilder, I'm looking forward to having more regular night's out with him for a while unless his punditry career takes off! 😉🍺🍻

Capt. Pants 4,234 Posted October 3, 2022 It's a crazy season. By the end of it I reckon a good third of clubs will have sacked or changed manager.

PockthorpePete 331 Posted October 3, 2022 WBA are Bruces 12th club. More games as a manager than a player. When he gets the boot from WBA he should set himself up as an 'interview' consultant, as he must have an excellent technique to still be getting work after the number of failures he's had. Most of his generation, and type, have long been pensioned off.

I have seen them a fair bit this season on TV as well as against us and they are one of the best teams I've seen. They just can't but a win. If your into your stats the should be top 2 and if not then on the eye test they should never be down where they are.

Haven't a third of the Championship already changed manager (if we include Rotherham, which wasn't a sacking)?

Hogesar has just shared two Xg charts on the Xg thread which show that statistically Middlesbrough were performing in the top 4 in the division. It was just that they didn't have anyone hitting the back of the net. Save for that one omission, they would have been in the running. Wilder has never been that good on buying strikers, Billy Sharp was a godsend at United, without him they would not have got promoted. Wilder inherited him, tried to replace him, but Sharp is as much a true Blade as Wilder himself. 47 minutes ago, CANARYKING said: Apparently Edwards, ex Watford, is going to Boro, and Wilder, ex Boro, is going to Rotherham.. just waiting for Benetiz and Allardyce to appear somewhere. Rov'rum have appointed Matt Taylor from Exeter! Wilder is a favourite to replace Cooper at Forest, which is just close enough to Sheffield for him to come home for his bacon sarnie at lunch time! 🤣

That is an admission of failure alright!! Maybe he can get a tune out of them , but after seeing them last night, i really think they are as bad , if not worse than us.....Best of luck Forest, you're gonna need it. In spades.
