Well this is a depressing press conference

More covid cases

Surgery for Normann

Rashica still out

2 games in 3 days.

Starting to feel like we're going to be cut adrift before we get a chance to even think about reinforcements.

We are likely to be 4 points behind Burnley with them having two games in hand, one of which is against Watford.

Looking bleak but the big losers are Newcastle.

Any idea on how long the surgery will put Normann out for, its a hip issue isn't it?

Sounds like it will be months rather than weeks...

Has just been stated as 'for the foreseeable future'

Omo out for another 10 days

Hanley didn't need surgery but needs another 2 weeks

Byram needs time, but I suspect those comments and Max being missing in the training video suggests he might feature

Sargent and Tzolis only just coming back but will need to be in the squad due to low numbers.

Only 16 expected to train but that's too many for the PL to call the game off.

Basically the mood was very much the schedule is a joke and they need to think about the players and squads. How are we supposed to play 2 games in 3 days with 16 players? Half of those aren't even fully fit

Rest of the season then probably played his last game for us

Agreed. His parent club will oversee progress. He's not ours to rush back or rehabilitate. We'll probably have to foot the bill for the treatment as well.

What a shambles. Crazy that a proper break hasn't been implemented

Can we not cut Normann's loan short?

What's the point in keeping him if he's going to be out most of the season, let him go back and free up a spot for someone else, as good as he's been so far he's no help now.

This has the feeling of the Man City game. Everyone's out no chance. We'll win time to throw some lads in let them take their chances. Nothing to loose.

But both games should be called off.

Without Normann, Rashica, Skipp and Buendia we truly have a Championship squad.

Add in Cantwell and Max being sold by the start of next season, and those rumours about Giannoulis too and well.. Could this team get top six in the championship?

We can only have 2 of those anyway!

Connor said apparently the answer to that is no

Christ, that's a scary thought.

I think you can probably remove Rashica as well, can't imagine he'd want to hang around for Championship football.

There are still enough below average teams hovering around the bottom of the league to mean survival remains possible. Ditch the pretty stuff and go hoof ball for a while and see what happens.

Pretty insane that Gilmour played with a high temp against Villa.

It is, but not against the rules as he didn't at any point before or after test positive

Sorry to dispel a little of the misery on this thread but top six? Definitely!

Isn't this kind of when Norwich buck the trend, when they're REALLY up against it.

Come on you yellows!

I don’t think they’ll be any shock results this festive period unfortunately. We have been well and truly ravaged this time. Arsenal are in fine form and of course the game is likely to go ahead. When it really really shouldn’t. Classic. I hate this league. I really do.

Not in the Premier League though. It's been many years since we nade a fight of a relegation battle.
