Midlands Yellow 4,068 Posted April 16, 2021 He’s been stealing a living for years now, about time too.
Canary Wundaboy 1,359 Posted April 16, 2021 Difficult to muster any sympathy, with the talent at his disposal the results have been extremely poor.

Barry Brockes 148 Posted April 16, 2021 There was an alleged rumour at the time Boothroyd was allegedly appointed by Dan Ashworth at the FA that allegedly Boothroyd had been the best man at Ashworth's wedding allegedly. Pure coincidence obviously if that was the case.
ncfcstar 292 Posted April 16, 2021 Lampard for the job? With the aim to move him into the senior team when Southgate leaves?
Branston Pickle 3,683 Posted April 16, 2021 He did have a point about better players being ‘nicked’ by the full team (something u23 managers could all moan about - but ‘success’ at that level is measured differently) but there’s still a lot of talent at his disposal and he got nothing like what he should out of them at the recent tournament. Duncan Edwards 2,261 Posted April 16, 2021 I seem to recall that he was on a few 'wishlists' for the Carrow Road hotseat a few years back. Perhaps he will be again should Farke depart...🙄
cambridgeshire canary 6,792 Posted April 16, 2021 Thank god, about time. Â How we did awful with arguably one of the most talented England youth teams in years is beyond me

AJ 1,224 Posted April 16, 2021 He has been woeful for a while, this was more a formality than a surprise, hopefully they pick someone who is decent with youth in his place

Worthy himself said that losing young thrusting talent as Boothroyd was a sign of the clubs lack of ambition. Or something similar .
Making Plans 940 Posted April 16, 2021 Got the job for his "no baggage, squeaky clean" image rather than football managerial ability. Same as Southgate. They all get found out in the end..

We held onto Worthington and he was sacked that October, while Parkinson went to Hull, and was sacked that December. There is a moral or a lesson there but exactly what it is eludes me...😕
