kick it off 1,955 Posted January 5, 2019 Great to see Dennis and McLean starting and getting some minutes. Like the team, let's see what they can do.
Kanadyan Kanary 121 Posted January 5, 2019 A bit surprised Zimmerman and Cantwell have not been rested. Both seemed tired in the last game.
Chelm Canary 404 Posted January 5, 2019 Sir benny has some quick feet. I expect a goal from him this evening.
Capt. Pants 4,277 Posted January 5, 2019 Strong team, no excuses. Some key players out there, let's hope they don't get injured.

Pyro Pete 1,920 Posted January 5, 2019 Feel slightly sorry for Pinto. If he's not considered good enough for a game like this then surely he has to be sold this month.

Herman 9,825 Posted January 5, 2019 Good that he has rested a few and give some game time to usual benchers. Lets see how we fair. Does anybody know anything about Pompey and the strength of their team?
......and Smith must score. 1,360 Posted January 5, 2019 This looks a decent line up with every chance of progressing to the next round. With our injury list it would be helpful if the home game against Sheff Utd on 4th Round day is postponed but even if we don't get through surely the Blades will beat Barnet at Bramall Lane.... Pyro Pete 1,920 Posted January 5, 2019 Hanley sent off. That's pretty much the last thing we wanted to happen today. Idiot.
kick it off 1,955 Posted January 5, 2019 Thats why Hanley aint in the first team. Atrocious. Slow and clumsy.

Kanadyan Kanary 121 Posted January 5, 2019 Bad tackle that from Hanley and now a 3 match ban.
Orly 277 Posted January 5, 2019 I'm trying my hardest to look back on recent refereeing performances without bias, but my conclusion is, that they have been #@/?##. Camera angle not great, but I'm fairly sure someone was round on cover, meaning Hanley wasn't last man.
kick it off 1,955 Posted January 5, 2019 Right decision to send him off in my book. Not malicious by any stretch but late, clumsy and the guy was clean through.
ROBFLECK 132 Posted January 5, 2019 Terrible tackle , right decision
Petriix 2,853 Posted January 5, 2019 Definite red. Clearly last man. Should make the game a bit more even.
pete 320 Posted January 5, 2019 Way to celebrate the new 4/5 year contract on your return to the first team.
Kanadyan Kanary 121 Posted January 5, 2019 It looked like he was last man and I can't see that one being overturned.

Refs have been crap lately but the 'covering man' was about 15 yards up the field when he clattered him. Im no sympathiser but the ref had this one right.

wcorkcanary 4,337 Posted January 5, 2019 'Last man' has nothing to do with the outcome, the law is' denying a clear goalscoring opportunity' .... which it was. Always worth reversing the situation in your mind, if it was our player brought down.
Capt. Pants 4,277 Posted January 5, 2019 Red card all day long. Could have been at WBA though. We must get a LB though as we'll need Godfrey at CH.

Always worth reversing the situation in your mind, if it was our player brought down. I'd argue that a league 2 player who has to dribble 30 yards to goal with players likely to catch him before isn't really a clear goalscoring opportunity, but my lack of in-depth knowledge of the specific wording of the rules means I'll just shut it, instead.
