Dorrans to Rangers!

Being reported this morning that Rangers are after some experience and have targeted both Graham Dorrans of Norwich City and Joey Barton of Burnley.

Would be excellent signings for them.

As for Dorrans leaving, has only been a bit part player for us this season but could be a key player in the Championship. If he is to leave then 2 million is a minimum.

I must confess I don''t really ''get'' Dorrans. Obviously has talent but is lightweight in the tackle and doesn''t really create much either. He has a good range of passing but his desire to always put a foot on the ball and have a few touches consistently slows down our attacks which can be really frustrating.

If we got a decent offer I''d be tempted to sell.

Really good player. Has lots of experience and knows how to get out the division. Also has a good habit of passing to a team mate, which sometimes our players lack. Could be a crucial player for next season.

Very decent player to have in the squad. But from his point of view he isn''t going to get picked ahead of Howson or Tettey and we now know he''s behind O''Neil as well, so he may wish to be first choice elsewhere.

Probably all depends on who we keep hold of. To be fair he''s not going to play too often if Howson and Tetty stay.

He''s not one of our best two CM''s and we''ve currently already got Howson, Tettey, O''Neil, Vadis, Thompson, himself and presumably a new signing all expecting game time in the Championship next year. If we gt offered a couple of million we can easily afford to lose him. Weren''t Bournemouth interested as well? Would be nice to have a bidding war on him. I like him as a player but he''s just been too inconsistent to hold a starting place here.

O''neill will probably get released. Hopefully Mulumbu gets moved on. Tettey potentially could want out and with only 12 months remaining and could force a move away. I reckon we will keep dorrans, good player at this level.

I think oneill will go because he signed a 2yr deal and he was thanking fans for his support over last 2yrs and not just for this years suppport.

He can dictate the tempo, if the tempo is slow.

I do like some of what he does though- he always drops deep, offers the defence the short ball and reduces the reliance on long balls. However when he turns the over way I''m less sure what he offers.

Important to keep Dorrans at the club, the next season he may well be a lynchpin in the middle for us. Other posters have already said about a few of our midfielders, Mulumbu done nothing, ONeill contract up, Wes getting into maybe his last season,  Tettey up in the air. Always liked Dorrans, overall think his strengths outweigh his weaknesses.He could be tempted to move back to his native Glasgow i suppose, but i hope he looks into Alex''s eyes in the coming week and shows Alex that hes up for the coming season with City.

on good form he is a great championship player, good range of passing, intelligent use of the ball and has a decent shot too. Would work well alongside a more dynamic ball-winning midfielder like tettey

He was another one who was a good signing on paper but hasn''t really had a huge impact here. Not to say he was a bad signing, he played an important part in promotion, but they really rated him at West Brom a few years ago and having fallen out of favour there he could have come here and taken the opportunity to show his quality. I don''t think it helped that too often he was used to fill in the gaps across the midfield when he''d previously been at his best playing in a more attacking/creative role.

I still think he''s a decent Championship player but if the money is right and the player wants away, I wouldn''t be too sad to see him go.

He reminds me a bit of Surman. He has obvious qualities but they don''t suit any position we seem to ask him to play. He''s less consistent than he was though. It''s a shame Rangers haven''t got a decent amount of money to offer us. He''d playing in a team vastly superior to all but one of every club in the league and he''s hardly a vital player for us.

That was his reputation early on in his career, remember he scored 15 odd goals for West Brom in their promotion season and was something of a set piece specialist. I agree he hasn''t shown much of that with us, but then he''s usually been played more defensively.

Think Dorrans is on the ''will probably keep'' pile tbh. If we can keep hold of Jonny Howson then I''d say accept a couple of million quid though. We really need to trim down our central midfield.

Dorrans is solid. That''s all that can really be said. Made a good difference to our options when we came up out of the Champ, and think he''ll be a good option this year. Unless one of Maddison, Thompson or McGrandles are seen as good enough to step up, we will need him for bodies in the middle. Mulumbu is the one who we should look to ship out, awful signing!
