1. I''ve throw in my wife (And kids) ideally Monday 10am to 11pm!
2. Family over from the U.S. On Sunday and am trying to get two extra tickets to show them what real football is (Redskins season ticket holders). Resigned to the weds lottery... (Oxfam appeal music) If anyone can donate an unused season ticket or priority member account that would be appreciated - more than happy to buy a beer or two to say thank you!
3.
You''re so full of bile and hatred for the team you purport/pretend to support Le Juge that you genuinely can''t actually see what''s happening in front of you. Johnson didn''t fall over against Barton and he didn''t fall over tonight. On neither occasion did he fall over. But still you claim he did. Why don''t you change the record and come on here and swear blind that black is white or that day is night or that 2 + 2 = 5. It would be more convincing.
He play acted to get someone sent off - simple as that. If you cant see that, or think that''s acceptable and supportable, then there is no point in further discussion with you. Just because someone is wearing a Norwich shirt and you support Norwich it does not mean you have to agree with everything they do to constitute a true fan. How stupid is that. Send Bradley Johnson a get well card, visiting times at N&N are 4pm-6pm.
4. Good to have a positive thread everyone agrees on. There is hope.
5. He''s a complete joke. Comical play acting. At least this means Tettey will be back in centre mid.
6.
More defining towards premier league establishmnet than Holt on half a season loan from Wigan. Much as I like the bloke.
Aston Villa have played top flight football for 102 consecutive seasons. We have managed it for 22 years in the history of the club. Hopefully they get relegated to the championship for the next 81 years while we remain up. In 2094 we will then have a more established record. Give or take some years for bad maths. And if we can exceed their 4 European cups 7 top flight league titles, 7 FA cups and 5 league cups (we have 1 I know) and extend carrow road by 25,000 enroute its a bonus. This continued obsession with comparing Norwich to Villa is laughable.
7. Gutierrez on a half season loan is a positive move for the club but hardly a defining move towards premier league establishment.
8. I would rather have our football club supported by fans like you than the negative trolls who largely make up the population of users on this forum. You credibility and strength of opinion is however completely lost when positioning yourself in the blind support of Chris Hughton camp. You view it as balancing the forum but it only fuels the negativity. It sounds like you have overly emotionally committed yourself to this forum by being sucked into battling people that are just not worth the time. I would recommend taking time out and applying a less is more approach, focusing more on a balanced and reasonable positive view. You will gain greater credibility, impact and most importantly, happiness.
9. I regularly watch Norwich Away but sit in the home end with mates that support the club we are playing. I can''t see what the problem is with others doing the same at CR. If someone is being disrespectful to fans around them they should get reported/removed but that applies equally to home and away fans.
10. Homing in on the ref is just sour grapes in us losing. We had a good shout for a pen and should of good a few more corners but he let the game flow and it was a good competitive encounter.
11. Most neutrals, pundits and bookmakers will also be backing a home win.
12.
Fer and Tetty is the right central mid combination at the moment for me. Redmond and Pilks either side. Who should be no. 10 tho?
Completely agree with the statement and question. Time for Howson to step up.
13.
Well that London canary bloke wasn''t there that''s for sure. Either that or he missed the whole first half.
I was watching a different game - the one i saw the watford reserve team had 18 shots on goal - 14 on target.
14. Ruddy Martin, Bennett, Turner, Garrido Redmond, Fer, Tettey, Pilks Howson RVW I''d be looking to Snoody, Hoops and Elamdner if things don''t goto plan.
15. Snake - I''m not sure how anyone considered Wes had a great game given the fact Norwich only fully got into the game as a result of him being subbed off for Fer on 74mins. He was a passanger in midfield and created nothing substantial other than 1 good shot on goal. If you have BJ and Tettey behind the onus is really on to provide linkage to the one guy up front and Hooper just had scraps. We all know what hoolahan is like - On his day our most creative player - others completely missing.
16.
RvW up front, Howson behind him and Fer and Tettey in central midfield. Redmond (if he is fit after 120 mins last night) on the right and Pilkington on the left.
This
17. Relying on the impartial coverage of radio norfolk and isolated statistics such as the number of Norwich corners (all of which came in the last 15mins of normal time + extra time) does not give you a fair reflection of the game. Watford''s 14 shots on target (Bunn in top form) v Norwich''s six is a better metric for measuring the general measure of play. Like I said though it was a GREAT game - I just can''t see how taking 120mins to overcome a championship side which made 7 changes to their regular side is season defining.
18. Murhpy and Redmond are both undoubtedly raw talents but I just dont think we can rely on them to consistently deliver week in week out in a premier league campaign - they are just not at that stage of their careers yet. Snodgrass and Pilks need to step up and achieve their top form of previous seasons.
19. We have scored 2 let in none in the last 30mins of football.
20. Are you kidding me? Did you see the game? We were completely outplayed by a championship side for 70 minutes. A 120minute run out midweek before Stoke away is not what you want. Hoolahan and Johnson were woeful and were subbed off for our best player (Fer) and are only option to play on the wing (Murhpy) I wouldnt say these were inspired substitutions - my mate who came to the game and knows nothing of Norwich called the players that needed to come off 10mins before hand and they were the only two viable options on the bench. Murhpy offers raw talent but we cant relpy on him every week in a premier league campaign. It was a great game though - really enjoyable and of course good news we progress in the cup. The game did highlight the current issues in our team though when it comes to a completely defensive set up, one dimensional football and lack of creativity.
21. Fundamentally the game turned on Leroy Fer coming on. Our set up of Johnson and Tettey together in midfield just didnt work. We need one of them but not both, especially against championship opposition. With Ollson on the wing too you just have 3 defensive players who offer no creativity limited movement and a lack of pace and ball distribution. That then puts more onus on Hoolahan in front of them and he had a poor game, running into trouble, going missing for large parts of the game and generally lightweight play. Redmond and Murhpy do offer up pace and direction but are still youngsters. Fer is clearly going to be our most significant player this season, He can control the game and has the all round attributes you need of someone in the centre of the park. Elmander offered up good leadership and work rate. Hooper fed of scraps all game but scores the two chances he got so you cant ask for more from him.
22.
As I have said elsewhere I am not particularly a fan of Howson but I thought that was one of his better performances for us on Saturday. Personally I am amazed so many people think his strongest position is behind the striker. To me he always looks indecisive in the final third and lacks some guile and that ability to play the game in his imagination to play that role well. He doesn''t look comfortable making the quick decisions necessary there. To me Saturday re affirmed my thought that he is potentially best as more of a playmaking central midfielder type in the style of a Scholes/Ramsey etc. slight midfielders who are most effective with the game in front of them, managing it with their passing, popping up with the odd goal or long range strike and can put in a tackle despite not being a ball winner. However I still think he has got a long way to go to become that type of midfielder, and for some games for a team like Norwich that sort of player can become a bit of a passenger. I think I would rather see Tettey and Fer play at the moment. The thing is that a Scholes and Ramsey type play best alongside a Flamini, Keane or Carrick who sit as the more defensive of the two. To me if Howson plays then it''s Fer who has to sit deeper. At the minute I still think Fer gives us more than Howson as the attacking one of two in centre mid so i would play Tettey alongside him to give him that freedom. However Saturday gave me hope Howson could be an option there if he keeps on improving and particularly against certain opposition or certain circumstances.
This
23. We have looked like we are in trouble over the last 25 games. Regularly achieving less than 35% possession and sub 3 shots on target. We should always support the team but being unable to see or accept the present state of the team is being blind to relativity. Speak to any neutral, check the betting odds look at the statistics. Hanging hats on 11th place last term masks the reality of the situation. 10 points separated 10 places. We have Stoke away, Chelsea, Arsenal Man City and Cardiff next. We will take no points other than Cardiff and will be facing a total of 7 points amassed 1/4 of the way through the season.
24. I was clearing wrong trying to deviate from the 100 other sack CH threads. This Forum is as useful as CH himself.
25. Bored of the moaning, we all understand the position 2 wins out of 23 away from home, 5 wins out of 26 league games in total. Hull: only 115 passes out of 442 were completed in the attacking third. One of only 5 out of 21 crosses attempted were successful (header on target). Everton: Two shots on target for the whole game and 23.75 minutes per shot. Spurs: 32% possession, 1 shot on target. Absent a change of management, how do we improve with what we have. We have options - constructive comments only. Two options I would like to see considered: Tettey back in central midfield. We need to build around Fer who he will complement perfectly. He was also central to our best period of form last season. Sorting out the number 10. We have Arsenal, Man City and Chelsea coming up and cant approach them like we did with a flat 442 (two number 9s) like v Spurs. I dont believe Elmander or Hoops can play there - they are pure out and out strikers. For me the only viable options we have are Hoolahan or pushing Howson up. Rotation of both based on performance.
