1. It is a rare sight seeing a Sikh in a turban refereeing a football match. This is going to make people focus more on his performance - the same as when there was a female linesman, or commentator. It is likely a similar refereeing performance by your average 40 year old white ref would have got a few mutterings, but have passed with little comment.
2. I think Neil Adams made a few comments on the (bad) state of the pitch as well at the start of the match. Enough money has been spent on on and off field activities, time to put more into field activities perhaps..
3.

It is the boards fault when GR doesnt have any money to spend on a striker.
Exactly!.
The Scunthorpe striker we were after was not for sale though - they said even 5 million would not be enough to sign him.
4. So we are the only team in the Championship to have not lost in 10 matches, excellent!
5. I actually thought Hartson had a great debut. Looked the most creative player, and most likely to score. He may have dropped away somewhat after that though..
6. I liked the following quote a lot... "Well forgive me if I fail to double up in paroxysms of sympathy for the fickle grief-mongering hypocrites. One minute, Liverpool fans were happy for their club to behave like a cheap whore who drops her knickers the instant somebody waves some money in her face; the next they’re not only surprised when she gets screwed, but they’re begging for her to be shafted by a richer punter." http://www.spiked-online.com/index.php?/site/article/4305/
7. "So Glenn came down shouting at me and he was bang out of order. He did it for effect, he did it to affect the fans around him, and I more than told him so." So writing his side of the story, and getting the last word on the BBC website isn''t out of order? Still I think his column is always a good read!
8. I don''t know why everyone is so defeatist about terraces coming back. If our supporters clubs actually got together and pressured the government for small areas of terracing then I can''t see why it wouldn''t happen. It was supporters clubs that got terracing in Germany. I''m sure some people do prefer seating, but shouldn''t us "customers" be offered a choice? Its a bit worrying people see government laws as inevitable, and meekly succomb to identity cards, CCTV, smoking bans, probably drinking limits in the near future... Besides it feels slightly ridicuolous singing, chanting, and screaming at the pitch..while sat in a chair.
9.

Honestly, the youth of today - why can''t you keep the score on your fingers ?  It''s not like it''s rugby or anything is it ?  How difficult is it to remember 1-1 or 0-0 !?
It''s when the score gets to TWO blah. Then they''re in trouble!!    [;)]
At least when we beat Ipswich 6-5 at Portman Road their supporters will still be able to keep count..
10.
b) With the Professional use of the Internet, Revenues from this could and should exceed TV revenue, this just needs the support of the supporters using it. (Seriously) c)  Local business support.
There is already revenue from the Internet - Canaries World. I can''t see many people paying more than the current 40 pounds to listen to Radio Norfolk once a week. Surely local businesses already provide support through sponsoring players and advertising. I think all the time and effort you seem prepared to put into this would be better spent with an existing organisation such as the Norwich City Supporters Trust. Surely a place on the board is far more valuble to the supporters than funding the odd player every couple of years? Although since Blah put the web address as his tagline their site seems to have disappeared!
11. "Hi Karen, Doomy here" "Hi. Ringing about "Tiny" again?" "Yes. Will you accept our offer of 750k? It is the last day of the transfer window" "I read your supporters have just contributed 250k towards his transfer fee." "Er...maybe...but we are offerering 750k.." "I think we''ll settle on a million eh? We were about to give in, but extra money always comes in handy.."
12. Safri and Fotheringham... Anyone know how Safri is getting on at Southampton? Is he off in the AC?
13.
Quite right too, whats he getting? MBE, CBE, OBE or a Knighthood?
Very good!
14.
I''d like to see changes brought in to make things fairer across the game rather than all the power and money residing with the top clubs. Therefore only the champions to play in the champions league, gate receipts split equaly between home and away teams, only two substitutes on the bench per team. As far as the game goes I''d like automatic yellow cards for diving, off field timekeeping, and penalties only given for denying a goalscoring oportunity. It can''t be right that a virtual goal is given for an piddley foul just because it happens to be in the area - the punishment is too harsh for the offence.
Are you seriously suggesting that a club like Norwich that has attracted a large supported base, built good facilities, created community links etc. etc. should give away half its gate receipts to clubs that can only attract a few thousand? 99% of home supporters are there to see Norwich. 2 subs? Does this include a goalkeeper? Would make for a more boring game with fewer changes. Most clubs in the same league have similar sized squads. 3 outfield changes sounds about right to me. Off field time keeping - yes. But I guess the referee still has to decide at what point to end the game. Agree also on penalties. Thats probably why refs seem to ignore minor infractions in the box. What happened to indirect free kicks in the box? That was all the rage in the late 90s - not seen one in years.
15. Who are the coolest people in a hospital?     The ultrasound people...   [:$]
16.
How was the movie? I''m a big fan of the books, but haven''t got round to seeing the movie yet.
There is a production of a Pullman version of Puss in Boots at the moment at the Maddermarket - http://www.bbc.co.uk/norfolk/content/articles/2007/09/13/theatre_maddermarket_phillip_pullman_feature.shtml. Rumours are he might be there himself one night..
17. Imaging if there were quotos though..the price of English players would skyrocket. Half of the Championship would probably end up being foreign players as a result. Guess it is sad Arsenal fans don''t have a local boy or two to cheer on, but I am sure there are just as many role models on the pitch, and being top of the league I''m sure they don''t care.
18.

We have an away point, at an away ground that is very difficult for any side to go to
Just never quite understood how any particular ground is a difficult one to go to.
Playing in front of 5,000 people in bad conditions probably isn''t condusive to good football for a start.
19.
I''ve had enough of him, he''s an embarrassment. He might give it 100%, but it''s 100% of not a lot.  Even trying to claim that goal last night, how desperate is he?
If Cureton hadn''t been on the far post behind the defender, they wouldn''t have put it in their own net. If the defender had missed it it was a tap in. He had a big part to play in the goal. I thought it was a great reaction he had afterwards as well - the joy at the goal, and holding the badge up.
20. 4 for Pattison is a bit harsh - he was all over the pitch in the first half. At least a 5!
21. I thought he looked our best attacking threat. Got himself a few decent chances, and his pressure led to the goal. What was Dublin saying to him at the end though?
22. A goal saving block, and an assist, can''t ask for much more. Well actually a few less clearances from all the defence when they are not under too much pressure would have made us look a better side, and kept our posession rate up.
23. amongst all the Capello anecdotes that I’ve read this week there’s one that perfectly sums up his win-at-all-costs mentality and ‘iron fist’ managerial style. During an AC Milan pre-season friendly in China in 1996, Capello withdrew striker Paolo Di Canio at half-time to protect a 1-0 lead. When Di Canio asked ‘Why are you so obsessed with the result of a friendly?’ Capello retorted: ‘You are an ugly c*nt and your face looks like a penis.’ Capello Gold! http://www.spiked-online.com/index.php?/site/article/4185/
24. can only find a link to Sky Sports..which never seems to actually work. sop://broker1.sopcast.com:3912/29704
