  1. There's so many sides in the Prem who are just turgid dead wood, but only three spots available to get rid. As much as I dislike Leeds, Wolves and Villa they do at least entertain. So I'd like any one of: Palace, Burnley, Newcastle then Watford, and the playoff winner. Not us, obviously.
  2. I lived in Manchester for a spell and the first few years coincided with that utterly abject post-Worthington period of Roeder, Gunn, etc. Was never embarrassed, but responses were often along the lines of "oh dear, I'm sorry". Of course then came Lambert and suddenly lots of people remembered that they quite liked little old Norwich and fondly recalled how they'd spent a few days there in the 70s. One of my local pubs would be kind enough to put our live games on a screen for me in a back room and I'd often have a little crowd of old-timers in with me. Loved it.
  3. It's not about the presence of ads, they're a necessary evil... Its the way they're aligned over and between text. It's a formatting problem.
  4. It's the whole of Archant for me. I tried the edp24 app but it's just as relentless. You get a one-sentence paragraph then have to scroll past pictures, videos, random links... And god forbid you try to find the comments!
  5. I've voted for you buh, obviously, but I will be looking to call in some favours* once you're installed as my patsy * Not those favours... Not again...
  6. I think putting Placheta on was the right option in terms of his pace and drive to provide an outlet. Unfortunately I just don't think the lad is up to it. I'd be worried seeing him in the Prem next season - maybe a Champs loan to improve his decision making? We were definitely rattled by the sending off, though, and we definitely have to work on regaining composure. We were lucky not to concede before half time. No arguments about their first two goals, but the third was well offside.
  7. C'monnnnnnnnnn! 🎈🎂🎉🚨⚽🥰💪
  8. Yup, squeaky bum time for Derby. Can't say that's upsetting. Also looks like the playoff places are locked in. Just a question of who gets to play who first now.
  9. I never have any problems understanding him, it's just that what he says is so inane my brain immediately switches to some nice easy listening Muzak
  10. Oh, well, if we're going off topic and you happen to be a bit of a nerd, I definitely recommend The Podcaster's Guide to the Galaxy... 😉 https://anchor.fm/tpgttg
  11. The title winning squad of 2003/4 gatecrashed our Norwich Union work do at Delaneys, joining us on the top floor as they were getting a bit harassed downstairs. Chatting with Hucks, singing We Are The Champions with McVeigh and Drury, seeing Greeno's bare **** as he pulled down his pants and waddled around... It gets a brief mention in Iwan's book. Great night.
  12. What, no Fozzy Flick? Can't be any good... Looks good at corners and a good eye from range but quite a few lumps straight into the keeper there, and a number of penalties. Bit inconclusive I'd say...
  13. Not to mention a rapidly growing argument about whether we need new owners, as if its 2007 again... What next, Worthy Out vs Keep The Faith?
  14. A hat trick against Brentford without conceding would set him up nicely... * of course I realise 49 minutes too late that we've already played Brentford twice... 🙄🙈 *
  15. I thought he was outstanding last night. I resisted tweeting about it during the game in case I jinxed it! A spell out on loan to a good Championship club would be of benefit next season. Maybe half a season and see how he's faring at Christmas and bring him back if needs be.
  16. That would work better for our friends down the road, since they've spent the last few decades getting shafted like a stepmum stuck in a washing machine...
  17. I'd love us to take a stand and remove any betting related shirt sponsorship, but it's not just about that. There's whole stadia named after betting companies, branding in the stands, on the advertising hoardings, and that's all without the juggernaut of SkyBet and Sky Sports' assault on the senses that leaches to every single game that's shown. It's become an absolute beast of a problem.
  18. I've always been lurking 😂 Mostly I have to say particularly enjoying these Next 5 Games posts, been really good to chunk up the season like this and analyse a bit at a time. Makes it a bit less anxiety-inducing!
  19. See, this is why I absolutely love the Championship as a competition. You look at those fixtures and ours, in particular, look absolutely winnable on paper. But relegation scrappers like Sheff Weds for us, Derby for Brentford, Brum for Watford... Those fixtures are always banana skins in this league. And of course there's the play-off challengers like Bournemouth and Cardiff who will all be tricky for our opponents... Not to even mention the mid table teams who are feisty and relaxed and maybe even have one eye on a late playoff push... It all looks easy to predict on paper, but this league is just too much fun to make it certain...
  20. I've never really been away... Just call me Lurky McLurkface 😉
  21. Careful you don't cut yourself on all that edge...
  22. That's 2.18 points per game by my reckoning, and our current form is 2.17... So it's a real possibility...
  23. Great question this! Turns out mine was almost a full month. Born 8th December and they didn't win a game until 2nd Jan, an FA Cup game against Stoke...
  24. SPURIOUS INFO ALERT!!! Yesterday I saw some suited gentlemen gathering outside Carrow Road, about to enter. I heard one of them say ''How''s your Italian?'' Of course they could have just been looking for some pasta from Delia''s... But you never know!
