1.
There''s no point playing Forster tonight if he''s not going to play him or Ruddy against Germany. Everyone knows what Hart is capable of - and he''s been in decline the last couple of years anyway. He either needs to give Fraser another chance or he needs to let Ruddy have a go. Putting Hart back in against Germany would just send out a message that it was a token gesture and his place is safe - which it shouldn''t be.
It was always going to be a token gesture. Hart number 1 & Foster number 2 is set in stone. Forster & Ruddy are fighting for number 3 that''s all
 2. They are only battling to be number 3 so hardly worth having a debate. Hodgson has already said that Hart is number 1 & Foster number 2
 3.
Both of your "experienced premiership managers" were previously forced to drop into the Championship following sackings in the Premier League. So it is really hard to find any sort of formula from that. Are you saying that we need to snap up a sacked Premier League manager before he heads to the Championship? The only one that I can think of is Tony Pulis. Or to grab a former Premier League manager who is currently in the Championship, before he gets promoted? The only one that I can think of is Steve McLaren. What you don''t mention is that Newcastle replaced Hughton with a manager from the lower leagues, Alan Pardew, who was sacked and replaced by a manager who was sacked after promotion from the Championship. Ian Holloway wasn''t "axed", he went to the Chairman and said that he wasn''t the right man for the job. Interestingly though we can read that of the three clubs to sack managers whilst the club is in the relegation zone (Reading, QPR, West Brom), two went on to stay up (QPR and West Brom).
West Brom weren''t in the relegation zone when they sacked Di Matteo. They got rid of him before that happened. It''s probably already too late for Norwich
 4. It was the players who had no bottle & embarrassed the club today
 5.
For at least two reasons: There is so much off-pitch activity -travel, hotels, transfers, publicity, shirts and strip, press conferences, academy, etc. He doesn''t do all these things, but he needs to be consulted and involved. The result is that the manager can''t be at all training sessions, and he needs someone, or two, he can leave to do this daily and necessary work. Clearly he will entrust these tasks to people who have shown before that they are reliable and have much of his own approach at heart. He has worked with them before and knows what contributions they can make. Their relationships in the past have been congenial and effective, so why change?   It''s a lonely job being a manager - dealing in transfers, planning strategy, selecting teams, disciplining players, encouraging players, etc. Again, he needs someone he trusts to offer advice, act as sounding boards to his ideas, and even to contradict him, etc.   In the end it boils down to sympathy and trust. You can''t afford to risk being lumbered with someone you cannot trust.
Virtually all of those should be the responsibility of the club not the manager. Otherwise you throw everything away when the manager leaves & the new manager then brings in his own people and his own players. How ridiculous is that? How costly & how wasteful? What other business would operate in that way? The manager should just be responsible for coaching the first team playing squad. Then when he leaves the back room, scouting etc all remains in place and can carry on developing rather than the club starting again. This is the model West Brom use and it seems to be working pretty well.
 6.
Yes, and Liverpool were 7th, 12 points ahead of the rest.  With Man C our next away game that will 5 of that top 7 in our first 10 games.  And our last 4 games are against teams in that group too. So we need to get on a good run for the 24 games in between.  Something like 35 points will be needed assuming we can beat Cardiff and get nothing at the Etihad.Sometimes the "big" teams don''t "turn up" - Arsenal and Man U at CR last year for example - but so far this season they have, at least when playing us.  Cardiff, WBA and others have benefitted from no shows, we haven''t.  So we can not afford any more Hull or Villa type performances. But to be fair the way we are playing, especially with a more settled midfield, they look less likely than they did a few weeks ago.
Why do you say they benefit from no show? Both Cardiff & WBA took on their illustrious opponents and had a real go at them. It wasn''t no shows by the big teams it was excellent performances by the underdogs. WBA totally out played both Man Utd and Arsenal in 2 consecutive games. They weren''t backs to the wall performances looking to pinch a point and hope for something more like Norwich''s yet they were some sort of fluke according to you? Their attacking play was quite amazing coupled with a very solid defense. If you think Norwich are currently performing at anything like the level WBA are then you are seriously deluded.
 7. Apparently the story came from a reporter on the Scottish Sun. Think Fraser Forster might have some questions to answer
 8.
Predicts a 2-2 draw this weekend vs Chelsea! I admire his optimism, Lawro has gone for 1-2 in Chelseas favour.
Or maybe his blind faith in the underdog doesn''t quite stretch far enough to predict a Norwich win? Interesting that he thinks Palace will win at Liverpool & WBA will beat Arsenal 8-1 !!
 9. Price has to be agreed between the 2 clubs and the gate receipts are shared. So i would suggest the price is much more likely to be down to McNally wanting as big a cut as possible rather than down to united.
 10. Just read some of his laughable comments about the other games and found this interesting little nugget.. Apparently West Brom''s win against Sunderland doesn''t count. So that''s another place up the table we have gone although no-one seems to have updated the table yet.
 11.
So I think you''d all get behind Hughton if the press conferences went like this....HUGHTON: First up, sunshine, it''s "Mr. Hughton", not "Chris".  Secondly, the trickiest thing about the Stoke match will be finding our way to the stadium.  Have you ever been to Stoke?  Whoever drew up that road layout must have been out with Delia the night before.
What sort of road layout do you prefer? Have you ever been to Stoke? A mile along a dual carriageway from the motorway straight to the ground. Even my wife wouldn''t need directions!
 12. The secret was scoring at least as many as the opposition. Now there seems to be no emphasis on the word scoring
 13. West Brom away to Hull & Fulham on 22/03/14?Could''ve sworn that it was Fulham 1 West Brom 1 last week
 14.
wow redmond just destroyed his man lol
Needs to look up. Could become very frustrating if he gets too greedy with no end product
 15.
destroy? the only thing he could destroy is his boyfriends @rsehole
How eloquent! I bet your parents are so proud!
 16.

Your signature says Everton going down - really!!!
That''s the prediction I''ve chosen before a ball was kicked and under martinez and the possibility of baines and fellani going I BELIEVE its entirely possible yes. I''m guessing you don''t, so who do you believe may go down??
So you are impressed by a home draw against a team you expect to be relegated? Surely that means it was one of the 3 easiest home games this season?
 17.
Al, it''s because Anelka was bought to replace a starter, whilst Elmander is not.
What has that got to do with it though.? I know i''d much rather have Anelka in my team than Elmander
 18. I find this thread hilarious!  Apparently Johan Elmander to Norwich is a great signing when a couple of weeks ago Nicolas Anelka to WBA was a terrible signing. How does that work?
 19. Last time i looked teams don''t get any points for transfers.
 20.
west broms form at the end of the season was woeful. we scored 4 against them...they just rolled over. Has odemthingy gone yet?
Bizarely their poor results in the 2nd half of the season coincided with Lukaku starting games. Their champions league form before christmas was when Lukaku was a bit part substitute. So replacing him with Anelka could well make them even better next season. Anelka coming off the bench with 20 minutes to go is quite frightening and will win them a lot of points i think
 21.
shall we just see? The thing is hooper hasn''t been tested regularly at the highest level. He did well in the champions league, but the question is can he do it in the prem week in week out. Only time will tell is the answer. He''s proven that he can score in the championship and the SPL which is ok. I think he''ll be ok, not outstanding. I think he will be £5.5m worth....but who knows
Exactly this. Leigh Griffiths who is younger & scored more league goals than Hooper will struggle to get in a league one team this season
 22. Everyone that thinks it''s worth putting a pound (or more) on Norwich winning the premier league at odds of 5000/1 then give it to me & i''ll give you odds of 6000/1
 23.
I don''t want a decent cup run until we look like a side that could finish in the top five as I fear we could pay the price for it - look what happened to Wigan last season
Deluded or what!
