  1. Has Rashford been having affairs that I haven't heard about? We hear a lot about African players who regularly send large amount of cash home (Mane, Salah etc) but very few English players who does good for those not as fortunate as themselves. Rashford could hve joined them but instead put a lot of effort into helping people. I find it most unfair to group him with Walker.
  2. You missed Steve Clarke and Scotland. Quite often plays but always a squad member.
  3. National League North next season then.
  4. It should be quite simple, if anyone falls over unnecessarily, for any reason, they should be booked.
  5. VAR sees to that. They look after their own. Many better referees are being denied promotions because so many of the **** ups are covered up. If there was no VAR the cream would rise to the top instead of being held down, the current bunch of referees would show their true value and ability.
  6. Too many people on here do not realise the enormity of some people's wealth. The words 'millions' and 'billions' are now used so often that their differnce is not fully realised by some. To help with this just understand a million seconds is about eleven and a half days. A billion seconds is more than thirty one and a half years. Sir James Dyson counts his wealth in billions, so to him thirty five million isn't that much!
  7. No, he isn't that good. He's like so many others who have shown they are not up to the standard we want and need. But the the more he doesn't play the better he will be perceived to be.
  8. We've lost the chance of someone who is Norwich through and through. His team currently sits in fourth place in the division.
  9. The more he doesn't play for us, the better he will be perceived to be.
  10. Perhaps the simple answer is to replace them both.
  11. It goes to prove, once more, that Appication and Attitude are just as important as Ability
  12. How many other people, like me, felt that Josh would be the better of the twins? Josh was, once again, a sub for Oxford United in League One.
  13. Which ex-Norwich player was the first to be sent off at the new Wembley?
  14. At he moment some club's benches would easily be in the starting eleven for other clubs. Players seem to be satisfied to be part of the match day squad, whether they play or not. Because such good players are on the bench it doesn't matter if others are injured. Because such good players are on the bench it doesn't matter if some players run themselves into the ground after an hour, they can be replaced. Because such good players are on the bench the paying public do not get to see them and other clubs do not get the opportunity of giving them regular football. I would also reduce the age of players who do not qualify as squad members to 20 instead of 21 and have fixed squads of 30 players, meaning if a club wants to transfer a player in, or one comes of age, they must release or transfer another one out. There have been other excellent suggestions above of which I particularly like: * spread the TV revenues between the top three tiers something like 60:25:15. this would make finances in the lower tiers more viable * Go back to three subs it’s plenty. Maybe allow a fourth if the goalkeeper gets injured. * Introduce maximum squad size to prevent the hoarding of players by big teams. Maybe allow a maximum number of players out on loan. Abolish loan fees. * Prevent players moving clubs before the age of 18. On another note, the number of substitutes has now increased from the top to the bottom. As a result even the lowest football has at least three subs. Players at that level do not want to give up their afternoon watching football from the touchline, they want to play. As a result many are leaving the game and the number of teams, and in some cases the number of leagues is becoming drastically less. Grassroots football is dying and the number of substitutes is a major part of the problem.
  15. If he turns out like other unknown, inexperienced appointments of the club it will be OK. Neil and Farke both did OK it was the experienced Smith and possibly Wagner where the problems lie. Even Webber wasn't that well known when he came to City. Give the man a chance and give him some time.
  16. We have the best front six, with extras available, in world football but once again 6 central defenders, a full back in midfield and three defensive midfielders ready to play in an ultra defensive system. Playing to our strengths?
  17. If it were not for VAR far more younger, and better, referees would be officiating at higher levels. VAR is so often a get out for referees. If they make a mistake quite often it can be rectified. The better referees make fewer mistakes but younger ones have to wait for retirement to progress. (Unless you have good connections!) Many of the top referees, Simon Hooper and Darren England come to mind, would be relegated to lower football if not for VAR. If a striker consistently misses goals he gets dropped. If a referee consistently makes mistakes VAR helps him out and he keeps refereeing at the standard he is at.
  18. Very poor positioning for at least three of the goals. If you're not in the right place you can't save it! Incidentally I could not see why the first goal was not offside in the build up, coming back from an offside position, perhaps somebody can enlighten me. The first goal in a game is always so important.
  19. My memory must be failing. I thought Poringland firstly moved to the old Gothic ground on the ring road before then changing their name to Norwich United and then the club moved to Plantation Park. In the same way Overstrand FC moved to MADRA, became MADRA FC who then move to Cromer and then became Cromer United and then changed their name to Cromer Town who had withdrawn from Division Three a few seasons earlier. Cromer Town then went on to win the Sterry Cup a few times. Or was it Overstrand? But the memory isn't as good as it used to be! Name changes cause many problems.
  20. Let's get it clear. Betting is not a problem for footballers, it's a problem for the nation. Lives a ruined, families are broken, crimes are committed. Footballers are competitors which lead to the need to win. Gambling is a form of competition which will entice many to take part. Many forms of online gaming is banned in many other countries but we seem content to make gaming companies rich beyond their wildest dreams and to continue to allow them to make those fortunes out of the misery of so many. Don't just blame footballers!
  21. First match somewhere near 1962. At the time when you could change ends at half time and sit at the back of the Barclay on the railway sleepers. I also remember clambering up the TV gantry in the corner of the River end to get a better view on one occasion and not hearing the warnings that were being given about it being unsafe. So somewhere around 61/62 years.
