  1. When it comes to this leg of the East Anglican derby we always get a number of Ipswich fans coming on here. Rather than being dismissive of our poorly educated rural cousins, I welcome them with open arms. By way of a welcome I think the following guide to common english mistakes might be helpful. I recently saw the following written by an Ipswich supporter. "I usually get depressed at this leg of the derby when i go there. There a much better club and there supporters are just much better humans than our Ipswich supporters in every way." I will underline the corrections to help but suggest that you write it out a few times to get the hang of it yourselves. "I usually get depressed at this leg of the derby when i go there. They're a much better club and their supporters are just much better humans than our Ipswich supporters in every way."
  2. @Essex Canary When I first started looking on here a couple of years ago I thought you were like a cranky old stopped clock - right a couple of times a day. In your case you were right that the club's finances were not well controlled. Lately, however I have come to the conclusion that you are just a bitter old cnut: 1) You are obsessed about wanting to transfer your season ticket even though it is just a perk of your investment in the club – You above everyone else. 2) You took the time and effort to make a new thread just to take the p155 out of a genuine new fan from overseas who came here because of the club’s positive mental health awareness efforts. 3) You are constantly negative in everything you say about how the club is operated. Frankly point 2 is beyond the pale and should have earned you a ban from here for life. Becoming obsessed and miserable are both signs of dementia for your own sake and that of your family visit your GP and get checked out. For the sake of the rest of us just check out from this site – for ever.
  3. I was working on a construction project in London in the early 1990s and we had a key supplier from Stoke. Visiting them was like time travelling to the 1970s - particularly in their attitudes. I imagine with the slower passage of time there they have probably reached the 90s so SW should fit right in there particularly with his attitude to women and general dismissiveness of everyone who is not SW.
  4. @wcorkcanary havent the mods picked you up before for calling someones stupid comment laughable?
  5. It is starting to look like Leicester and Southamptom will get the two auto spots and Leeds to win the playoffs. This season has become a mirror image of past years where the premier league is predictable and the championship more wide open - perhaps the usual script writers are on strike. The smallest of consolations in this will be the broken hearts and rivers of blue tears from the Ips*** supporters. Also a ****ty finish for us (without relegation) should be a catalyst for new coach and major team restructuring with young, hungry and fit players wanting to prove their worth to the world rather than a bunch of geriatrics doing the football equivilent of spitballing week in and week out to pick up their pension cheques.
  6. @Big Vince https://www.ukpublicspending.co.uk/spending_chart_2006_2023UKb_XXc1li117800_600gf_H0t_Current_Budget_Deficit the first 5 bars are the last 5 years of the Labour government. Are any of them £160Bn? No, and the reason for the two high ones was the Global Financial Crisis (the clue there is in the word Global). If you are going to come on here and just spout a load of **** all the time, do yourself a favour and please make it totally random rather than something so easily debunked.
  7. Well the useful idiots Webber and Webber have done a fine job of driving the club into a position where MA and friends now have total control. They are now no longer useful so I expect Zoe will be gone with Stu and Wagner too in a few short months (or is that weeks). I can't see Smith and Jones here by this time next year either the club is in an utter mess and the fun must be starting to wane for them.
  8. @Soldier on you are probably right, I dont know the details of them.
  9. @Essex Canary I think you are being very optomistic with your estimate. I can't see the loss in the new accounts being much less than £20m. I seem to recall hearing somewhere on here a while back that the last parachute payment was already spent and then you have to put in the equity and debt from MA which also appears to have been spent. I think the big problem with NCFC on the finance side is that they have been paying the players too much given those players quality and performance.
  10. @Commonsense@S_81 As I understand it a championship team that loses £39m over a period of 3 years is considered in breach ( someone who knows more about this can hump in and correct me). In last years accounts the loss was £17m but not sure if that counts as during the accounting period the team was in the PL. The accounts due around now will most likely show a bigger loss as the revenue will be well down while the wages were not much lower.
  11. As it looks like a substantial increase in debt will show up in the accounts is NCFC at risk of earning a points deduction from the EFL under the Financial Fair Play rules. I realise other clubs are in a similar position but every now and then EFL likes to make an example of a club to show they are doing something.
  12. English football is not healthy: club finances are often terrible, player injury rates are high and some club owners are terrible human beings. What are your suggestions to make things better. Mine would be: 1) reduce the top three tiers to 16 teams each. this would reduce the number of games and hopefully injury rate. 2) spread the TV revenues between the top three tiers something like 60:25:15. this would make finances in the lower tiers more viable. 3) hard wage caps in each tier. Also good for financial viability. 4) max overseas ownership level of 30%. 5) Ditch the Carabao cup.
