Commentator said " Ida h was pretty lucky there, straight down the middle. The keeper dived to his right and got his fingers to it". ???? Where was the keeper standing then?

Moaning and complaining is what makes them happy. -
Foreshaw was surely recruited to be that CDM.

I had the paper posted to me from about '66 until it ceased. This was to all over the world where work took me. I thoroughly enjoyed every page of it, even if it did arrive about two weeks after publication in a lot of places. -
There is an Australian cider called Dickens, and adverts for it were very close to the knuckle.

You do realise he got extremely rich by inventions his Gresham schooling had given him the freedom of thought t progress and finance his ideas. Not sure how " backs of others" can ever come in to play here. -

Kenny is doing an excellent job as skipper, putting himself about to help and encourage our players. Hope he keeps the armband permanently, especially as Hanley will not get back in the starting eleven now. -
Is this dirty McClean or Mayor McLean? One too many 'c's.

Actually the 4-4 scoreline reminded me. I was there, with a good friend who was a Saints supporter. We had a day out in Norwich, we went to the match and our wives, both Filipinas, went shopping. -

According to posters on here the attendance was 143,681 that day. Amazing that everyone was there that day. No idea if I was, I was a Capital Canaries member in those days and attended most matches, but memory is failing me these days. So I won't lie and say I was there because I have no clue. -
Well said. I was thinking the exact same. Heskey was never popular with either club or England fans, but his various managers all continued picking his as they understood his contribution to the team.

It's a bit of an oxymoron. Players good enough to get us out of this league are not good enough for the EPL, but players good enough for the EPL are not good enough to get t us promoted. A bit simplistic, and obviously does not apply to all players. -
Meanwhile, in Madrid....

My memory says that in the past a team in France, possibly Monaco, did have a pitch on top of a building. But maybe I am delusional. -

So no Nunez, Gibson/Batth, Sorenson, Hernandez, Forshaw on your bench then?
