Indeed Hooper isn''t exactly going to be challenging Stephen Fry to a game of chess, but he knows where the back of the net is and that''s all that matters!

He does sound, and make comments that make him look, extremely dull, but looking at the videos section of his website some of his goals make him look like a very intelligent centre forward

I''m sure the keyboard warriors trying to belittle Hooper would come across as geniuses in a press conference about football. How narrow-minded are some of you to judge someone''s intelligence on the basis of a 20 minute press conference? He''s smart enough to give guarded answers when he''s sitting next to his new boss.

Me too, I think the sweat on his brow was a touch of nerves.  He didn''t look comfortable in the spotlight at all.
Anyway you don''t score goals in press interviews.  So, agreed RC it really doesn''t matter.

Just watched this. So boring. Agree that goals aren''t scored in press conferences but my word, at least show some excitement at playing for Norwich. It''s all Premiership and England with this fella.

Its called ambition.    He''s ambitious, so he came to Norwich.   That should be enough to please us, surely.   As for a boring press conference, I thought he was bought to play football, not to star as a public speaker.........

He doesn''t HAVE to be excited about playing for us, sure, it makes good copy, but if he''s here to score goals in the Premier League and break into Hodgson''s setup then where''s the harm in that? Not aimed at you in particular- but there does seem to be this idea that every player at Norwich has to love the club. Look at Assou-Ekotto at Spurs. The bloke isn''t mates with his team mates, doesn''t socialise with the players and doesn''t even like football. But he is a very talented full back. I really don''t think Hooper''s disdain (perhaps a bit harsh) is relevant.

It doesn''t matter if he does well and he achieves what he wants we achieve what we want. Quite simple really. Players aren''t going to come here and not see it as a potential stepping stone

Looks a little nervous in a multi-interview situation, live on TV but I don''t think that is any reason to knock him. His trade is Football

If we wanted a strike force who sounded good on TV we would have signed Richard and Judy

Footballer in boring interview shock! They are normally highly intelligible, interesting and witty.

Agree - cant see why people cant say good things about the club they are signing for.Sort of reminds me a bit of morison   -----   but hopefully he''ll be a far better player.

Good reference, ron obvious. ;) Classic Python.

Hooper may not be great with the mic but this isn''t pro wrestling. Besides, he aced the essay portion of the inquisition.
