no1canary 0 Posted March 5, 2007 Kathy, he''s said that because the report says Sunderland are also interested in him. If we can get a good amount for him, definately should move on.
nutty nigel 7,870 Posted March 5, 2007 So everybody here would be happy to see Etuhu leave? And yet he is our only player who is consistently linked to Premiership clubs. Worthington, Hunter and Grant always picked him as did Preston Managers. Moyes wanted him at Everton.I think we should persevere and try to get the best out of him at this club, I don''t think we can afford to replace him now the parachute money has ran out.Thought for thr day: Why are other clubs never interested in "Fans Favourite" Yousseff. Tumbleweed 106 Posted March 5, 2007 I''d personally drive PG up to Teesside if it meant we could guarantee getting something meaningful for him.............

Citizen Journalist Foghorn 0 Posted March 5, 2007 The guy is an absolute waste of space. Total utter joker, and useless footrballer. He looked out of his depth against Cambridge pre season. 3 decent appearances in a year of being here says it all about this clown. GET RID QUICK!! It would be great business to actually make money on this total utter waste of space.

nutty nigel 7,870 Posted March 5, 2007 I agree he is our best passer and I am also a fan of Safri Marty. But we can''t have eleven Safri''s anymore than we can have eleven Etuhu''s. They both bring different qualities to our team. Etuhu is the type of player all clubs need in the modern game and like it or not players like him and Francis fetch big money these days. Etuhu needs to find more consistency and also needs to be a bit braver going forward. He should be scoring the type of goals that Francis is scoring for Watford.
Etuhu is utterly anonymous in almost every game he plays for us - Safri has to do tyhe work of two players for the most part. He was teh same at Preston. he rarely tries and is a MAJOR reason as to why we are doing so poorly in the league.Yes he does do teh odd good thing. And scouts can be easily fooled into thinking he is good - hopefully some may have watched his performance against chelsea (his only dexcent game in about 20. But having seen him play for over a year now I realise we would lose nothing by removing him and his excessive wage packet from our club.
I''m with you on this NN. He has the qualities no question, the sort of qualities every team needs or is better for having available to them, as you say. With some competition for places, which we are starting to have, i think PG could start to get the best out of him. DE may have been here a while already, but remember that PG has not had a proper chance with him yet, especially as he''s had little choice but to just play him anyway with all our injuries.A huge part of football management is about getting the best out of players. The managers that can do this can make someone who you thought was totally hopeless into a decent player. We see it all the time. Think Mike Sheron!! With DE, he''s not hopeless, we know he has great qualities, it''s just about getting them out of him consistently. I bet you any money in the world, if he went to Everton, David Moyes would turn him into the new Patrick Viera inside a season. I say give PG a whole season with him, as part of a decent squad of central midfielders. One more required i think. But i fear if he hears he''s wanted on Teeside, we won''t be able to stop him. milburn 0 Posted March 5, 2007 i think early in the season etuhu looked the real deal. is it me or should the manger(s) not be getting that perfortmance out of him every week. i think a kick up the backside is needed and maybe not that massive moan that goes throuh the barclay when a pass goes astray. i understand that he goes missing, but think its ridiculous how people moan at certain players misplacing 1 pass but hucks and safri can do whatever they like and get cheered! seems people support individuals and not the team at times

whoareyou? 0 Posted March 5, 2007 We need somone like him...and i disagree with a lot of you. I think we should keep him amd get the best out of him cos he undoubtebly has ability and strength. If he ever comes good and produces good performances more often then he will be a £5 million + player in today''s football.
ZLF 333 Posted March 5, 2007 Isnt Etuhus agent the same as Francis? Perhaps its about getting a pay rise having got him into a long term contract - another couple of seasons with us yet.I agree with whoareyou? to some degree, if he played like we know he can he would be attracting the manus of this world and £15m+ rather than the boros - but how long do you wait for a player to start giving 90 minutes per game instead of 10 when so many manager have failed to get the best out of him already? Buncey 1 Posted March 5, 2007 So it''s Etuhu''s fault we are doing rubbish. Certainly not the other bunch of muppets who have played for us.....Oh and i guess he wasn''t any good against Cardiff or Sunderland both of which we won due to him...Oh and i guess all our fans, professional sports journalists were wrong when he was voted man of the match 6 times in a row eh? oh and don''t forget when he won player of the month. To be honest he''s been boted man of the match exactly... err infinately more times than say robinson was for us or hughes for us in midfield. He''s in a bad patch at the moment, but at the start of the season (when we were at our best and picked up the most points) he was our best player with earny and well without him we would be in the relegation zone. About time you actually think before you post about Etuhu because all i ever see you do is slate him, how about you take off your unbias classes and start supporting the players including Etuhu. You seemed to favour all the "don''t boo hoose croud" but you are certainly hypocritical when it comes to Etuhu.
gissing canary 2 Posted March 5, 2007 going back to an earlier point in this, he is rubbish and no premiership clubs wanted him, or else how the hell would we have got him for £450k? everton have spent well in the last 2 years, they arent gonna not spend 450 on someone they want.they saw him once (like we did) and thought whoa, then they watched him again and realised he does not care, and NEVER will!!if we could get close to what we paid i would take it, especially if that hearts rumour is remotely true. Yellowfuture 71 Posted March 5, 2007 Dickson has great potential but only shows how good he could be very occasionally.I dont know why this is, all through last summer there were reports in the paper saying he was getting himself really fit for the coming season, he clearly did something cos he started off well, but just slid back into his old form. Out of all the players we have I think he is the one who responds the worst to stick from the crowd, he gets flustered and not sure what to do.We continue to boo him and he continues to get worse! he has now lost his confidence.I have seen him play some really good games, he was very good at Chelsea and it could well be that because of the crowd he now playes better when away than at home, I dont go away very often but would be interestsed to hear the views of others.NW could not get him playing and so far PG has not had much more success, but I have confidence in PG`s judgement and I think he genuinly rates Dickson as potentially a very good player.I would like to see PG have more time with him, if and hopefully when the injury problems are better and we are winning more then with some help from the new staff he could develop into something special.PG seems to have found a role in the team for Hughes and in fairness to Grant he is giving him a good run in the team at right back.Could he do the same thing with Dickson if he has the time to do so.Should he be sold, I would only let him go if we can get a good price for him,£750k maybe. Alex Harvey-Jones 0 Posted March 5, 2007 Ha ha ha!! This is excellent - I hope it''s true. Have they ever actually watched him play?? Let''s hope they put in an offer we can''t resist - i.e. over £10!
Stevie Wonder 0 Posted March 5, 2007 Did I read somewhere that there is a clause in his contract stating that if prem club offers £1.5M then we can''t stop him going? If so, then lets hope that money bags Boro chuck us £1.5M asap - may not have to sell Earnie then!
John Boubepo 0 Posted March 5, 2007 It''s time to stop falling in love with players just because they wear a yellow shirt, he was a bad buy at the time, he''s not good enough now [unless you are happy with a mid - lower league position] and never will be good enough - In one day, my 17 stone Labrador shows more signs of get up and go than Dickson has shown in two seasons, if we get offered 200k we should snatch their hand off.If anyone wants a 17 stone Labrador I''m also open to offers
