Danny graham is back on
Alex Harvey-Jones replied to havemyhowsonit's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Can we please stop messing around with low bids and actually pay enough to sign someone decent. If we want Hooper then lets pay enough to secure him, if we want RVW then pay the £12m - we''re just trying to sign someone on the cheap. Identify our preferred chocie and buy him. RVW was always going to be expensive - he was recently one of the most highly rated strikers in Europe - never going to be cheap. Strikers are expensive...if we want to compete and stay in the league, stop faffing about and secure a signing otherwise it will be another last minute panic buy on Thursday and not who we really wanted! -
Pretty unfair to blame Kane. He is a 19 yar old with no premier league experience and has only recently come back from a broken foot. He actually looked ok in the first half yesterday, certainly no worse than anyone else. The blame should lie with the management - with everyone knowing we needed a striker in August we were left with a panic loan signing that we just managed to squeeze through as the window slammed shut.

I'm really not that bothered
Alex Harvey-Jones replied to crabbycanary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
After a 300 mile round trip to watch the game I was very bothered!! Not so bad if you live locally and can go regularly but when you can''t make games very often and live a long distance from Carrow Road it is very significant. Also, we needed a win to boost confidence....now our losing run has continued and the morale of the management and players will have taken a hit. Yes the FA cup is much less important than the league but it''s the ramifications of the defeat that I worry about....7 games without a win and 6 of those have been losses! It would have been a lot better going into the Spurs and QPR games off the back of a good win in the cup in front of a full house! -
Why the Tettey criticism?
Alex Harvey-Jones replied to ron obvious's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Tettey is by far and away the best central midfielder we''ve had for a while. What we need is someone to play alongside him with good passing ability as Johnson and Howson fall short in this department. I would be very tempted to try Tettey and Fox together...can''t hurt to give it a go!? -
Is Mark Bunn ....
Alex Harvey-Jones replied to sloleyfarger's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Bunn is a good shot stopper and an ok keeper but that''s as far as it goes. Ruddy, like Fraser Forster did previously, makes saves that he''s not expected to make and that is the big difference. Bunn is a number 2 after all but with our defence creaking gets exposed and that accentuates the gap in class with Ruddy. -
Disappointed that Wes isn''t starting!

Holt and Morison against Terry and...

Strike Force
Alex Harvey-Jones replied to Alex Harvey-Jones's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I think it is called a " Strike Farce ! " [;)]
Or strike force as they are on strike from scoring!! -
Quite simply what was the point in signing these players??? Ok we need a squad but we have Pattison, Lappin, Russel, Eagle, Renton, Bertrand who are not playing. This is such a waste of money. I''d far rather rely on the youth players than sign a bunch of loans and then not play them. Carney clearly can cross a ball - we have a big target man up front in Cort. Surely someone who could cross would be welcomed. Croft tries hard but his crosses rarely cause problems. Gow must be given a chance now instead of Cureton and as for Leijer - I''m guessing he isn''t up to the job - is this another loan player we''ve signed and then realised he isn''t good enough for the league??? A waste of yet more money.....!!

Fotheringham - A disgrace
Alex Harvey-Jones replied to Alex Harvey-Jones's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City

I was listening to canary call after the match on the long drive back to Northampton and was surprised to hear a caller say that the crowds treatment of Fozzy was a disgrace because he wasn'' the worst player out there. For me this had nothing to do with his skill but his commitment. Fozzy is the captain of a team fighting for it''s life yet he just couldn''t be bothered. He ambled around the centre circle, didn''t get stuck in at all and most of the time looked half hearted and not overly bothered. This, quite frankly, is poor from any player...but the captain??? We need players who are up for the fight and are prepared to fight - Fozzy is neither. I was disappointed as well by his reaction. Ok i''m sure it wasn''t nice being booed and cheered off but to walk straight down the tunnel as captain and not stay on the bench to support the team is also unforgivable...... To be honest I hope Fozzy never plays for the team again....Russel or Pattison at least show some fight, some guts and some passion!!!
But Gunny favours him over Pattison, our top scoring midfielder. That''s the real disgrace.
Yes that is a disgrace - clearly Fozzy and Clingan are not great together and why Gunn persists with Fozzy I will never know. Grant said that Fozzy had skill on the ball when he signed - I see little skill there and with it no commitment. -
I was thinking on saturday that between the four strikers currently at Norwich, they have scored only three goals for Norwich. Cureton - leading scoring striker with 2 goals Cort - 1 goal Gow - 0 goals Killen - 0 goals Daley - 0 goals How on earth did we get in a position where we were relying on these players to score the goals to save us from relegation. Shocking.

The problem is we don''t have a decent striker to play up alongside Cort. He is a decent target man but needs a poacher to play off him. Lupoli would have been fantastic...Martin wouldn''t have been too bad.. I think Cureton is making Cort look poor to be honest!

I don''t think the club wanted to get rid of Bell - he wanted to go. In our position we could not afford to have a player who didn''t want to be there and the money was needed. Sad but true. Think he showed yesterday what he is capable of...shame he didn''t want to produce it in a Norwich shirt!!

200? That''s nothing mate!!!
