PRESSER: Injury update on Rowe

Recommended Posts

Today's presser via the Pink Un:

Jon Rowe will be a late call for Tuesday’s trip to Vicarage Road.

Przemyslaw Placheta will also be a late call. Was absent for QPR after ‘dropping something on his foot’ in a non-training ground related private incident.

Ashley Barnes reported no after effects on Sunday after he played the full 90 minutes.

Angus Gunn and Adam Forshaw expected to target return to training after trip to Watford. Could be in contention for Sunday’s visit to Bristol City.

Grant Hanley is one to two weeks away from resuming his comeback.

Jacob Sorensen, Ben Gibson and Josh Sargent target a return to training within the next three weeks.

That is near enough the most Placheta thing I have ever heard.

Reminds me of when the Spain goalkeeper, Canizares, missed the 2002 World Cup after smashing a bottle of aftershave on his foot.

Placheta lol.

He did also say that Barnes was not expected to play the full 90 minutes. Praised Barnes and the fitness team.

Didn't Dave Beasant drop a jar of salad cream/mayo once, went to 'control' it to stop it smashing and broke his foot?

Did he get a dressing on his foot?

Did he not fall up stairs?

If he did, we have made disappointingly little of his anti-gravity superpower since.

Wouldn't happen these days. Haven't modern day footballers been banned from eating that kind of stuff?

You're thinking of Biden

No, Biden tripped on the bath mat while chasing his dog.

And there I was thinking Przemek might have pinged a hamstring or something (a very common injury amongst speedsters) and he's done a Dave Beasant.

Keep on keeping on Przemek, you magnificent what the hell!

I'm surprised whatever it was landed on his foot. Would have expected something he dropped to go flying off over the back fence.

I actually think it's a daft thing for the club to put out, if they'd have said he picked up a minor injury in training we wouldn't even be having this discussion.

Placheta LOL.

Doesn't sound all to promising for Rowe really either.

So Sargent could return to training in 3 weeks then. Doesn't sound as though he'll be available against the Binners.

In your face, Hoggy.

Norwich head coach David Wagner told BBC Radio Norfolk:

"The most reliable stats in football are goals and points"

See, in a matter of 48 hours he's clearly seen the light and started admiring xG, so actually, in YOUR face 😉

What was it that happened to Ian Butterworth? Wasn't that "Non-Football Related"?

Was he water-skiing out on the Norfolk Broads (or something similar) and he damaged his knee? Have a vague recollection of reading an article when that team was dismantled, including Culverhouse saying that his "face didn't fit" at Norwich anymore. Sad times. How likely is it that we'll ever be as competitive at the top end again?
