Rosenior post match comments

Recommended Posts

Sorry if this has been posted already but found Rosenior's post match comments both interesting and enjoyable.

Goalkeeper didn't time waste and it took him 15 seconds to distribute goal kick - ridiculous comment it took him more like 45 secs-1 min to distribute, quite rightly booked and quite rightly the time was added on

Ball was in a dead zone when the defence dealt with the initial corner - I don't call the edge of the box the dead zone

Ball was out of play, even I could see it from where I was - well maybe but the linesman is in line with play and its the whole ball that has to go out, fine margins

Their bench were screaming time wasting - good I want us to be a little bit nasty and hard to play against, I'm sure Rosenior won't be the first or the last to come out

I know Keith Stroud, he is a good referee and watched him when my Dad was playing - just about says it all really, doesn't it?

I hope to see more manager's come out with their poor old us comments, shows our strength in character and new mentality this season, if we have annoyed a manager on Day 1, god forbid what we'll do when the season really gets going.

And he was doing so well to build an argument until he said this! Expect Hull to get a couple of dodgy decisions themselves next time Stroud officiates!

This is why managers should be kept quiet about refs.  Seems like they can almost say what they like nowadays, but the reality is that outbursts and campaigns against any particular ref could affect that ref the next time, so they should just keep quiet.

it's been mentioned before, but as for the winner, the last Norwich player to touch the ball before Idah tapped it in was Nunez, and when he crossed it, Idah was still onside. The ball was then chested (badly) off a Hull defender, so he couldnt be offside. Goal. Deal with it Rosey jnr.

If he thinks Keith Stroud is a good referee I’m worried he banged his head as he went down the tunnel on Saturday.

For my sins I took a look on the Hull supporters forum and for the most part they agreed that the result was a fair one on the balance of play. Most point to a pretty poor performance by their own team as being the reason and that the away result was no surprise against us as an expected top 6 team.

So his comments are all really just self-preservation. There are a number of comments that Rosenior is running out off credit in the bank and the performances just haven't been good enough. This is probably the reason he's highlighting everything he can to take the spotlight off himself. Can't blame him.

I'm a bit surprised at all these supposed real men from Yorkshire whining on and on about it. None of them mentioned the blatant penalty not given for handball. I know it's sickening losing to the last kick of the game, but their defence was shocking and didn't deal with the cross - instead, setting up Idah for the tap in.

You can either take it and move on or whine and whine and whine........

He failed to mention the 100% penalty that wasn't given when his player used his hands /arm to deflect a Rowe cross.

Just noticed the post.above.

He is determined to make himself look silly - there is no way that he could tell if the ball was out over the line or not from where he was - the assistant couldn't from a few yards away (but should have been closer - maybe a fitness issue?).

I would have more sympathy if he said that the player who deflected the ball to Idah had just got back up after being hauled to the ground by one of our players (Andy?), and so they should have had a freekick. But he didn't say that.

This is almost always the reason managers do this,  to protect themselves or their team.

He seems to argue that Idah was offside when the ball came off their player. Quite what that has to do with anything is beyond me.

The offside law clearly states that a player is not offside  if the ball played through to him is the result of a "deliberate" play by a player of the defending team. There was no doubt whatsoever that it was a hashed but deliberate play by the Hull City player and not merely a deflection. And even had it been a deflection, Spencer 1970's excellent screen shot above shows Idah to be well onside. Well done Adam! As for  Rosenior, if he was able to see from the dugout that the ball was well out, then I can only suggest he allows the world's top eye specialists examine his vision to unlock the secret of his Superman powers.

He's got appease the hardcore I guess, this was spotted outside the ground at weekend:

I mean, he can't be weak in front of that lot.  I can only imagine how fearsome and tough they are.

He's probably got a valid point here, as his line of sight was completely clear:

If there was a player... or three, in the way, then you'd probably question his words.

Seems strange to me a championship manager seems to know very little about the laws of the game. Made himself look a right tool.

Mind you, I’d be questioning the linos positioning here too lol

Is this the new weird obsession thing like when we were a bit late to a game and Sheffield United cried about it for years?

Wilder, I knew I’d seen someone else recently throw a paddy about NCFC

Warnock is renowned for it

Yet when Boro were late for the play off final.................. they cried about it for years

Especially that 20 stone Boro gutbucket being interviewed by a fellow Boro gut bucket outside the South Stand.

Let's be honest, if it was us on the end of a controversial last minute defeat in similar circumstances then you'd expect Wagner to make similar comments. The one about Stroud was very odd though! Idah was 100% onside though, no doubt about that

The fact is 2-1 flattered Hull.

We were comfortably better than them.

End of.

Take your narrow defeat and run with it - you were lucky ... it should've been worse.
