Renaming of the ground...

Recommended Posts

Would anyone be that bothered? Lots of people I know still refer to the River End, Main Stand and South Stand.

If we could get money for it snatch it. Unless it's a gambling company of course.

Tin hat on and hiding behind the settee....

I disagree on both counts. The value of the money would not be significant enough to warrant to change the name, but equally, I don't get singling out of gambling companies; their money for legal entertainment is as good as any others.

Dunno the idea of Carrow Road being named '123letsgamblevegastoday stadium' would be a bit daft

You should watch Paul Merson's documentary. They're scum.

It would, but no one would actually use that name except Sky/BT etc , and as i rarely listen to what they are saying , it wouldn't bother me as id still call it Carrow Rd. ....not as if id be asking for directions to it, unlike some😉

The Barclays got a different name now hasn't it. Some window company isn't it?. Has you heard anyone ever actually use it?

Could you imagine the River End at the Always Ultra stadium?

With the right sponsor I think it could work, but it'd be better if it was added to the existing title as with Barcelona's 'Spotify Camp Nou'. I wouldn't object to something like 'The Lotus Carrow Road Stadium', as everyone would still call it Carrow Road anyway. If the money's right and the branding's right, it's one of those 'marginal gains' that we should seek to exploit.

I didn't even know about the Nou Camp being called that and don't think I've heard it referred to as that.

I'm setting up a toilet manufacturer just so in 10 years time when I'm making billions I can make Ipswich an offer they can't turn down. Anyone going to the game at 'portman road toilet company' today?

The most obvious stadium sponsor would be the insurance company whose roots was founded in the City - the "Aviva Stadium" (but of course that's already been done elsewhere - d'oh!).

We could get some extra dough, but we could also be left with an embarrassment...like poor ol Bolton here. 🤣🙈

The Toughsheet Community Stadium...I can't see anyone taking the mick out of this?!

To be fair (as a Canary living in Bolton), that's a local company who bid more than anyone else to get the naming rights and by all accounts their directors are passionate Bolton fans. Not to mention plenty still refer to it as the Reebok after the initial sponsor.

Then ban it entirely. It's either legitimate, or it isn't. If it isn't, do something about it, if it is, let it carry on and it should be allowed to operate like other business.

Weird. **** is OK in some contexts. Therefore we shouldn't be upset if pornhub.com gets plastered on the front of a football shirt.
