spencer 1970 207 Posted February 20, 2023 We could get some extra dough, but we could also be left with an embarrassment...like poor ol Bolton here. 🤣🙈 https://www.bwfc.co.uk/news/2023/february/the-toughsheet-community-stadium/ The Toughsheet Community Stadium...I can't see anyone taking the mick out of this?!

dylanisabaddog 4,971 Posted February 20, 2023 Would anyone be that bothered? Lots of people I know still refer to the River End, Main Stand and South Stand. If we could get money for it snatch it. Unless it's a gambling company of course. Tin hat on and hiding behind the settee....

The value of the money would not be significant enough to warrant to change the name, but equally, I don't get singling out of gambling companies; their money for legal entertainment is as good as any others. The Raptor 1,231 Posted February 21, 2023 The Barclays got a different name now hasn't it. Some window company isn't it?. Has you heard anyone ever actually use it?

Feedthewolf 4,866 Posted February 21, 2023 With the right sponsor I think it could work, but it'd be better if it was added to the existing title as with Barcelona's 'Spotify Camp Nou'. I wouldn't object to something like 'The Lotus Carrow Road Stadium', as everyone would still call it Carrow Road anyway. If the money's right and the branding's right, it's one of those 'marginal gains' that we should seek to exploit.
The Raptor 1,231 Posted February 21, 2023 I didn't even know about the Nou Camp being called that and don't think I've heard it referred to as that. I'm setting up a toilet manufacturer just so in 10 years time when I'm making billions I can make Ipswich an offer they can't turn down. Anyone going to the game at 'portman road toilet company' today?
shefcanary 2,444 Posted February 21, 2023 The most obvious stadium sponsor would be the insurance company whose roots was founded in the City - the "Aviva Stadium" (but of course that's already been done elsewhere - d'oh!).
Trevor Hockey's Beard 527 Posted February 21, 2023 I think that "The Forlorn Hope Stadium" would just about capture the mood of this message board.

Not to mention plenty still refer to it as the Reebok after the initial sponsor.
