New boss at Huddersfield.

I just logged on to add a thread with the same title. You beat me!

I'm strangely pleased. I've come to like him over the years. God knows why!

Why do we call him Colin?

Take the letters "Colin" out of Neil Warnock and see what you're left with.

But the best unemployed manager was in contention for this job! How did they pick Colin over Smith?

Yeah i'm the same, I think he's realised what he is and just plays along to the character now.  It's a bit like Roy Keane really.

He clearly just can't stay away. He's still gonna be managing when he's 80 mark my words even if he has to go down to non league for a club to accept him at that age, he'll he would probably be happy to do it for free given how much its clear he loves the game.

End of the day love him or hate him he's clearly In it for the sport and not the money, and is very much a proper old school manager. Fair play to him carrying on.

Smith is holding out for the Leeds job, he fancies getting revenge on us next season for sacking him...

Mad to think he was manager there in 1993, didn't realise that.   That'd be like us bringing Mike Walker in.

I'm up to speed now.

It’s not just us - pretty much everyone on football knows (including him, obviously); there have apparently been instances of journos accidentally calling him Colin in interviews.

You have to admire the bloke's dedication to the sport; I think he has retired after each of his last three jobs but he just can't help himself. I've also warmed to him over the last decade or so, so it'd be quite nice to see him keep Huddersfield up.

I imagine his wife is absolutely delighted

And here is...the lesser-spotted Warnock. Often found prowling technical areas and behind cameras, this persistent creature has varied plumage and a loud, piercing call, usually to attract the attention of a mate, known as a 'referee'.

Totally agree. I bet he'd be absolutely brilliant to chat footy with over a pint. Just seen an excerpt of one where he's with Ben Foster and was asked about the best player he could have worked with, and he told a story of how one of his scouts  recommended a striker in the French Second Division but they couldn't afford the hundred grand fee.

That striker was Didier Drogba!

Also - classic Colin picture in which he looks like a bald man sitting in front of a man with hair.

If the animal in question was particularly weird and creepy and had no eyebrows*

*In a world where animals normally have eyebrows**

**and never creep
