TheGunnShow 6,075 Posted August 19, 2022 Very even start, but we're looking like we're getting on the front foot now.
Pyro Pete 1,938 Posted August 19, 2022 I recall us bidding quite a lot for Benik Afobe. Wolves, was it?

TheGunnShow 6,075 Posted August 19, 2022 Gotta give Millwall credit, they've kept us away from goal / stopped us getting shots close in pretty well.

king canary 7,700 Posted August 19, 2022 Think we're seeing why Onel is better suited to the super sub role. His brand of getting his head down and just running works better when the opposition has been playing for 60/70 minutes first. Nunez looks like a cut above anyone else on the pitch, closely followed by Sinani who I'm finding to be the biggest surprise of the season so far. Biggest disappointment is we've barely seen Aarons in an attacking sense.

Drazen Muzinic 1,457 Posted August 19, 2022 Great skill from Omo. (No one on here speaks Polari I hope)
sonyc 5,541 Posted August 19, 2022 Really enjoying seeing Gibbs play (Don Goodman noticing too). He has been so calm and measured. Proper midfielder.
TheGunnShow 6,075 Posted August 19, 2022 No shots on target and nearly 40 minutes in. Looks like we need Viagra as sponsors for this one as at the moment everyone's firing blanks.

We bought Grabban for £4million from Bournemouth. Who promptly spent the money on Wilson.
Creedence Clearwater Couto 1,310 Posted August 19, 2022 Got to be patient. Millwall are a very solid, streetwise, championship side.

It wasn't that weird. Grabban had just scored 22 goals in the Championship so the £3m odd we paid for him was a bargain. Wilson was obviously talented but hadn't played above League One so much more of a gamble.
Disco Dales Jockstrap 1,899 Posted August 19, 2022 Plenty of the ball but yet to create a quality chance. OTBC

Monty13 2,267 Posted August 19, 2022 Well this has definitely been a game against Millwall so far.

I dunno, my main entertainment this half is watching Kenny bust a gut numerous times to overlap him only to get roundly ignored. The look on his face 😂

king canary 7,700 Posted August 19, 2022 Dowell has disappeared as the game has gone on- I'd give him 10 minutes and if it continues get Cantwell or Sara on.
Hank shoots Skyler 2,094 Posted August 19, 2022 How ****ing good is Nunez?? Guy’s a joke. Pretty good half overall, Millwall very disruptive and had spells where they stopped us playing, but have to say I’m enjoying the way we’re playing in possession. Some of the interchanging between Sinani, Dowell, Nunez and Aarons has been great. Sargent looks a threat too. Mostly solid at the back as well. Need to create some clearer cut chances I think, hopefully one of these crosses or 18 yard line shots is going to come good second half. Also their number 3 must be on the edge of a second yellow, took our Sargent and has been pulling us non stop since - at least three times after the first yellow.
aBee 152 Posted August 19, 2022 Defence calmly doing what’s needed. Matching them physically out of possession. Nice passing. Deja vu for me as you shoot unthreateningly from distance over and again. Very Dean Smith 9-11th Brentford. Get it and some players in the box before Millwall have time to cover!
Monty13 2,267 Posted August 19, 2022 Sarge has been excellent though, watching him repeatedly get ruffed up yet win the ball has been a pleasure to see.
rock bus 874 Posted August 19, 2022 I can understand why Smith thought Hernandez strength and pace may do a job but he really is just best used as an impact player. id give Sargent and Dowell 10 mins then bring Pukki and Cantwell on to unlock Milwall and secure the victory ( 🤞🏻 )
Jim Smith 2,363 Posted August 19, 2022 We are well on top but need to be so much quicker/more dynamic in the final third. Every time they delay the cross or check back inside and allow their defence to get set. Crying out for Pukki and Rashica.

Agreed - He started bright but we’ve commented the same, drifted out of the game as the game wore on.
