dylanisabaddog 4,921 Posted September 29, 2022 (edited) The standard of journalism in this country is shocking. Several Tories have been interviewed on radio today and all have come up with the line that this is a worldwide problem caused by Putin. No one has asked why economic forecasts place us 19th out of 20 in the G20. Russia is bottom. The only differences I can find between us and the rest are Brexit and a bunch of idiots in charge Edited September 29, 2022 by dylanisabaddog
TheGunnShow 5,940 Posted September 29, 2022 I said recently that she should be on Pornhub with the caption "blonde fuc//ks over a whole country". This and Kami-Kwasi should be "blonde and black co//ck fuc//ks over a whole country". Jonathan Pie has absolutely smashed it out of the ground. Here's the video if not seen already.Facebook

I admit to not following politics in my life as they bore me and never deliver on promises, but this lot must be stopped, we laughed at three years of the buffoon but at least Covid stopped him from doing too much damage but Truss….dear god she’s just lost, it’s like asking a 7 year old to run the country! If this was France the people would have taken to the streets by now. I incite the Pink'Un to rebellion. I'll bring the sandwiches.

Those gaps in the interviews were the points at which her advisors were passing her notes on what to say. Apparently she struggles to think on her feet and she is especially awkward if interviews contain emotion. It's why she answers questions that haven't been asked! She would probably smash it if she worked in one of those call centres - the robotic delivery and handy script would work wonders😃 Today though, she had no answers to questions about peoples' mortgages or about fracking. So it was back to repeating word for word what she had said a question or two earlier. It was very surreal! I think Gaby Hinsliff journalist from the Guardian probably summed her up well - extract here rather than the full article:

Why the fu*ck didn't she resort to a Peppa Pig story and throw in a few "forgive me" lines? Did she learn nothing from Britain's greatest orator since Winston?

Not nearly as dramatic. This link doing the rounds (the voice😅) gave me a small window for a laugh today amongst the usual daily calamity that is today's government. Yellow Fever 3,783 Posted September 29, 2022 I see Truss and Kwarteng have been called into the headmasters (OBR) office tomorrow. Something to do with having not done their homework. I reckon they'll get a detention at least.

benchwarmer 625 Posted September 30, 2022 What else can we expect when the leadership of the country is decided by about 100,000 people, ie. the Tory Party membership? It might be OK when they're not in government, but this is undemocratic and unconstitutional. How on earth have they got away with it for so long? GE now.
keelansgrandad 6,679 Posted September 30, 2022 This really does indicate how bad things are. His Dad would spin in his grave. Veteran broadcaster David Dimbleby made a rare outspoken remark while on air as he discussed the UK’s economic turmoil of recent days with the BBC. The former Question Time host said the “massive change” announced by the Government at a time when members of the public were being forced to make tough decisions was “a complete ****storm” for some people. It comes less than a fortnight after Dimbleby came out of retirement to front the BBC’s coverage of the Queen’s committal at Windsor Castle. During Thursday’s episode of the broadcaster’s Newscast podcast, host Adam Fleming told him: “I should make clear, you don’t work for the BBC, you can speak really freely.”

Your joke contributions continue without shame. The markets are up (probably temporarily) because the BOE just spent £65bn preventing our economy going into meltdown. Had they not intervened you may just have found out, along with millions of others, that you no longer have a pension fund. That's what happens when the Bank of England spends £65bn in a day buying its own gilts. In doing so it has saved some pension funds from going out of existence. I could try explaining how this affects the financial markets but however hard I try I somehow doubt I could make you understand. Sorry.

Lol Possibly a better way is U.K. market drops 553 points in a week. BOE ploughs in 65 billion, FTSE recovers 3 points ( as at 16:22 ), but somehow the 3 points outweighs the 553 points. I think he has been listening to much to Trump, Farage, Belwell, Johnson and Mogg to name a few.
