Could be anything, but I'll go for this, with good options on the bench.

                        Krul

Aarons Zimmermann Godfrey  Quintilla

                   Skipp Mclean

        Sorenson   Dowell   Hernandez

                          Pukki

Surley Sorensen won't be a part of the front 4 when we have Placheta, Stieperman, Cantwell, Martin, Sinani and even Idah available for the position.

He's a defensive midfielder who also played central defence and we've never really seen him play so of course he's now on the right wing.

Assuming we don't get any injuries before the game then I'd guess:

GK: Tim KRUL
RB: Max AARONS
CB: Christoph ZIMMERMANN (C)
CB: Ben GODFREY
LB: Sam MCCALLUM
CDM: Oliver SKIPP
CDM: Kenny MCLEAN
CAM: Marco STIEPERMANN
LAM: Todd CANTWELL
RAM: Kieran DOWELL
CF: Teemu PUKKI

Bench: McGovern (GK), Tettey, Sorensen, Hernandez, Placheta, Rupp, Hugill

Yeah, I got mixed up about Sorenson. So this -

                          Krul

Aarons Zimmermann Godfrey  Quintilla

                   Skipp Mclean

       Dowell    Stiepermann  Hernandez

                          Pukki

                             Krul

Aarons, Zimmerman, Godfrey, Quintilla

                     Skipp, McLean,

Cantwell,           Dowell,               Hernandez

                            Pukki

Subs: Barden, Gibson, Rupp, Stiepermann, Vrancic, Placheta, Idah,

A little too light on defensive subs I know, but on the basis that both Rupp and Stiepermann could fill in at full back if needed. I also expect McGovern and Hugill to be on the bench but I don't think they are worth a place. Harsh on Tettey and Klose but couldn't fit them in.

The Hugill vendetta continues! 😉

Would probably go for pretty much the same starting XI but maybe have Placheta in place of Hernandez, as Onel is only just back from injury and often turns out better as an impact sub. I know McGovern is no great keeper and will almost certainly be hanging up his boots next summer, it‘s just I still feel he’s a better option on the bench than Barden as he has miles more experience, Barden has just 1 game. Not sure about who I’d put as the outfield subs though

As DF thinks the sun shines from McLean’s rear you can bet your house on him being in the starting XI assuming no injury issues.

I had been scrolling through this wondering at each selection who was closest with their right wing suggestion.

I've seen Hernandez, Cantwell and Dowell - none of whom I think are particularly natural playing on this side (although I am less familiar with Dowell).

No doubt Farke will find a way to shoehorn Rupp in somewhere, probably on the wing.

And then I saw this comment and I knew. 100% we will see Rupp start on the right wing - I can just picture the match thread already.

I think we will see:

Krul, Aarons, Zimmermann, Godfrey, Quintilla, Skipp, McLean, Rupp, Dowell, Cantwell, Pukki

Subs - McGovern, Hernandez, Tettey, Hugill, McCallum, Steipermann, Gibson

So many good players will be left out every week - I'm missing Vrancic, Placheta, Idah, Martin, Sorenson, Mumba (+ Klose / Hanley / Byram / Buendia)

Hernandez to come on around 70 mins and assist or score our winning goal 😄

I wouldn't be devastated to see Rupp start there, I think he has something to offer. Martin probably in with a shout?

Excellent, I was beginning to think I was the only person wanting Vrancic to start  😀

He is our most creative and tricky midfielder. Sure, he has flaws- Not the fastest or strongest but when it comes to setpieces he's easily one of if not our best.

Shame Farke seems to hate him however

Martin is out injured according to the Farke presser.

He definitely is.

I'm not sure Farke hates him but I do think he fell into the same mindset as most Premiership managers which seems to be that the two key criteria to play midfield in the EPL are to be built like a brick sh*thouse and to be able run up and down the pitch non-stop for 90 mins.

What all these selections show is that only Tim Krul can be certain of his place. That must be a good thing and it looks like we have the strongest championship squad we've ever had. Says he with another 3 weeks of the window remaining......

Yeah mega strong squad as it stands, there will be a lot of championship players who would not be able to get on our subs bench.

I think Pukki is pretty set to start too.
