lake district canary 4,830 Posted September 11, 2020 Could be anything, but I'll go for this, with good options on the bench. Krul Aarons Zimmermann Godfrey Quintilla Skipp Mclean Sorenson Dowell Hernandez Pukki
KeiranShikari 1,524 Posted September 11, 2020 Surley Sorensen won't be a part of the front 4 when we have Placheta, Stieperman, Cantwell, Martin, Sinani and even Idah available for the position.

He's a defensive midfielder who also played central defence and we've never really seen him play so of course he's now on the right wing.

king canary 8,757 Posted September 11, 2020 My best guess would be... Krul Aarons, Zimbo, Godfrey, Quintilla Skipp, McLean Hernandez, Dowell, Cantwell Pukki
TheGunnShow 7,377 Posted September 11, 2020 Assuming we don't get any injuries before the game then I'd guess: GK: Tim KRUL RB: Max AARONS CB: Christoph ZIMMERMANN (C) CB: Ben GODFREY LB: Sam MCCALLUM CDM: Oliver SKIPP CDM: Kenny MCLEAN CAM: Marco STIEPERMANN LAM: Todd CANTWELL RAM: Kieran DOWELL CF: Teemu PUKKI Bench: McGovern (GK), Tettey, Sorensen, Hernandez, Placheta, Rupp, Hugill
lake district canary 4,830 Posted September 11, 2020 Yeah, I got mixed up about Sorenson. So this - Krul Aarons Zimmermann Godfrey Quintilla Skipp Mclean Dowell Stiepermann Hernandez Pukki
All the Germans 1,239 Posted September 11, 2020 Krul Aarons, Zimmerman, Godfrey, Quintilla Skipp, McLean, Cantwell, Dowell, Hernandez Pukki Subs: Barden, Gibson, Rupp, Stiepermann, Vrancic, Placheta, Idah, A little too light on defensive subs I know, but on the basis that both Rupp and Stiepermann could fill in at full back if needed. I also expect McGovern and Hugill to be on the bench but I don't think they are worth a place. Harsh on Tettey and Klose but couldn't fit them in.

Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Tube Man 4,616 Posted September 11, 2020 Krul; Aarons, Godfrey, Zimmermann, Quintilla; Skipp, McLean; Cantwell, Dowell, Placheta; Pukki. Controversial selection of Placheta instead of Hernandez, but it's just a gut feeling I have. No doubt Farke will find a way to shoehorn Rupp in somewhere, probably on the wing.

Would probably go for pretty much the same starting XI but maybe have Placheta in place of Hernandez, as Onel is only just back from injury and often turns out better as an impact sub. I know McGovern is no great keeper and will almost certainly be hanging up his boots next summer, it‘s just I still feel he’s a better option on the bench than Barden as he has miles more experience, Barden has just 1 game. Not sure about who I’d put as the outfield subs though

canarycop 232 Posted September 11, 2020 Cant see Vrancic anywhere in the squad to be fair. Keep changing my mind but see this Krul Aarons Godfrey Zimmerman Macullum Skipp McLean Cantwell Dowell Hernandez Pukki Subs Mcgovern Tettey Placheta Gibson Idah Hugill Quintilla or Sorensen
Hank shoots Skyler 2,094 Posted September 11, 2020 I had been scrolling through this wondering at each selection who was closest with their right wing suggestion. I've seen Hernandez, Cantwell and Dowell - none of whom I think are particularly natural playing on this side (although I am less familiar with Dowell). 31 minutes ago, Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Tube Man said: No doubt Farke will find a way to shoehorn Rupp in somewhere, probably on the wing. And then I saw this comment and I knew. 100% we will see Rupp start on the right wing - I can just picture the match thread already. I think we will see: Krul, Aarons, Zimmermann, Godfrey, Quintilla, Skipp, McLean, Rupp, Dowell, Cantwell, Pukki Subs - McGovern, Hernandez, Tettey, Hugill, McCallum, Steipermann, Gibson So many good players will be left out every week - I'm missing Vrancic, Placheta, Idah, Martin, Sorenson, Mumba (+ Klose / Hanley / Byram / Buendia) Hernandez to come on around 70 mins and assist or score our winning goal 😄

I wouldn't be devastated to see Rupp start there, I think he has something to offer. Martin probably in with a shout?

Sure, he has flaws- Not the fastest or strongest but when it comes to setpieces he's easily one of if not our best. I'm not sure Farke hates him but I do think he fell into the same mindset as most Premiership managers which seems to be that the two key criteria to play midfield in the EPL are to be built like a brick sh*thouse and to be able run up and down the pitch non-stop for 90 mins. dylanisabaddog 6,143 Posted September 11, 2020 What all these selections show is that only Tim Krul can be certain of his place. That must be a good thing and it looks like we have the strongest championship squad we've ever had. Says he with another 3 weeks of the window remaining...... Yeah mega strong squad as it stands, there will be a lot of championship players who would not be able to get on our subs bench.
