New Season, new fixture list...

Recommended Posts

Exciting stuff, in less than 10 minutes we find out what’s what for the new season.
I do wonder if we’ll have many of our fixtures farted about with  - we came under the radar last time and were barely on Sky in the first half of the season, but all suffered once they realised we were up there to stay so ridiculous fixture times like Wigan away followed.  I guess it doesn’t matter so much whole no one can go, though.

away at Huddersfield first off

Never easy the first game is, but given Huddersfield only just escped relegation to Leauge one last season, only down to goal difference too

Playing Watford, Bournemouth and Derby in the last five fixtures. That could be some real top to the table clashes around that time if all those teams (and Norwich) live up to pre-season expectations.

I saw that . The idea that these fixtures are random is a nonsense . Those end of season games are set up for TV.

A lot of the away games I would be going for in a normal season are at the back end of this one (I'm midlands based so do far more away games than home). It's a long shot, but hopefully will be able to get to a few by then.

At least playing Barnsley away last game will mean we can have a big following for the promotion party (results and COVID permitting). Then it will be Liverpool away for our first Premiership game of the next season 😉😉

No spare midweek until January by the looks of it, which shows how tight the schedule is this season.

Unless we get knocked out of the Carabao cup... more cynical may suggest that might not be a bad thing

When I said 'spare', I meant that something was pencilled in for every week.

But even if we get knocked out of the Carabao Cup early, the only gap between the start of October and the middle of January is a Carabao Cup round in December.

Any postponed games this season and the EFL may be struggling to complete the season.

Substitute ‘sensible’ instead of ‘cynical’ and you’re about right.  Carabao cup is certainly not a priority.

It isn't. In fact I wouldn't be particularly surprised if that is a majority opinion this season considering our focus on getting back to the Premier League and the truncated nature of this season.

Similar- I've got a line under Birmingaham, Coventry, Derby and Wycombe as maybe's in that half of the season.

The ones I want to do are mainly at the start so I won’t be doing them ☹️

Also, has anyone else found this totally snuck up on them? In my head the new season was still 6-8 weeks away and then suddenly I realised it's the end of August and we're less than a month from this new season.

If we're allowed, I will be at all of those - I really want to go to Wycombe to see Akinfenwa in the flesh before he retires!

Well the fixtures look far less daunting than last seasons list. I don’t think Norwich fans have ever been cocky but there’s certainly no team to fear.

Refusing to count that as a real game at this point!
